Review summary

We were fortunate to take two friends that had never cruised!  It's a great experience to see things from their perspective.  This ship is older and has retained the over the top flashiness that we expected.  Our friends were wowed!  The stewardess was perfect and the still do twice daily service.  Guest services was friendly and helpful.  We stayed overnight in Nassau instead of going to Freeport.  Understandable with Matthew having just devastated the islands.  Nassau was back on their feet but not without scars.  Food on the Elation was good and plentiful.  Service in the dining room was a little less personal than what we have seen before but our friends were impressed.  They have now caught the bug and have booked their future cruise.

Inside on veranda deck. Awesome service and access to outside deck was handy.

Ship tip

All veranda deck cabins are priority boarding. Didn't realize this until we went through security.

Thanks for your truthful evaluation. We're cruising early December. We don't get to go as much as we'd like to. We've been on the Dream, Fascination and I believe the Celebration. We're not fussy people so I'm hoping we'll still be impressed. I admit I'm dying to go on the Vista. I've watched quite a few videos from Matt Michum. The energy on that ship is off the chart from what I saw..... we're going to be happy just getting away. Hope our 14yr old leaves the attitude at the port..... might have to confine her to quarters if she doesn't. Do they have the bakery/coffee shop where you can get the hunk of NY Cheesecake. Last cruise I discovered that..... been craving it for 2 years..... can't hold on much longer....
