A wonderful Cruise by SusanS26

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Good experience for our first cruise. Got tired because all the ports were one after another. Maybe a sea day in between one of them.

Interesting Cruise by RoseM7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have cruised many times before, but never on carnival. If you have children and are traveling with them this is the Ship (Carnival) for you. If you seek peace and quiet, you need to travel on a different Line, for example; Princess. Perhaps other ships (Liners) cater to adults more. Anyway I would never go on a Carnival Ship again.

Very disappointed by BrendaD2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was not what I had expected. Our room was on the 6th Floor (Upper) and was not centrally located in regard to dining, activities, shops, and the theatre. We spent most of our time walking. We were close to the Monet dining area but were assigned the Renoir and had to walk alot.

Something you should know by LoriJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have been on 6 cruises so I thought I had experienced most everything that could happen but I was totally unprepared and stunned by the almost three hour wait in line to board the ship. Unbearable! Debarking in Cozumel was also poorly executed. The stairways and elevator areas were so tightly packed with people that you couldn't breathe. Other ships we have been on don't announce that you can go ashore until you actually can. The boat itself is clean but I wished that someone would have commented on how unremarkable the Conquest is. We were cruising with my parents as a gift for their 50th anniversary, it was their first cruise and I was unimpressed by the smallness of the lobby and theater and dining rooms. The ship felt very closed and it seemed like it was all hallways and low ceilings. We had a balcony suite and I will say that it was the nicest cabin we have stayed in. My husband and I agree that it was the best cruise we have been on for the food and service but the ship was very dissappointing.

The best trip I've had in a long time by KimberlyD548699

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We(myself & 2 daughters) sailed on the Carnival Conquest for the first time, and we were impress. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy & the staff very attentive to our needs & paid close attention to our wants. The steaks,Lobster, and chops were delicious. The buffet was an open atmosphere even though there were slight clutterness, but for a very short duration(2min) There was only one all night option, which was the 24hr pizzeria which was good for the young & young at heart. The shows were good but we really enjoyed the entertainment that was flown in. The dancers were good, but the singing of the 2 lead singers left much to be desired. Too many songs for our liking. Overall we had a very good time & would sail again on this ship.

An Awesome Cruise by CynthiaW8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We recently crusied on the conquest, with 3 teenagers (16,19 &19). We would like to see more activities for young adults. We all had a blast, the restraunt was fabulous! The 24 hr Pizza was great, our daughter is the picky eater, if she didn't eat much at dinner she would go for pizza at 9:00. The boat is beautiful with many choices of things to entertain. The staff was the most delightlful people from a variety of different countries. The excursions were great: In Jamaica we went to a planation, In Grand Cayman we went on combintion Jeep & Beach excursion (LOTS of FUN) and In Coszumel We rode the Twister, a speed boat that takes you to a private island for the afternoon.

WHAT A WAY TO SPEND A 35TH ANNIVERSARY by 1stT3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 1st cruise and we will definately do it again. We were amazed at the size of the Conquest. The ship was beautiful and our suite was extremely comfortable. We were at the front of the ship on the Lido deck. We hardly felt it move. We never got sick and we loved sitting on our balcony just relaxing. We traveled all over the ship. The art work was colorful and we especially loved the lights made into flowers. We enjoyed the music and singing in the lobby. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and lunch and in the Renoir dining room for dinner. We had room service bring us breakfast 2 mornings. It was always fresh and the coffe was always hot.

Carnival Conquest by JahnellT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was very clean and the crew was extremely polite and helpful. The stateroom was well designed and comfortable for the four of us even for seven days. I loved the balcony, we spent a lot of time in the evenings just relaxing there. The balcony furniture wasn't very nice, but they removed it all the last day of our cruise because it was being replaced! Wish they had done it a week earlier. Everything was well-maintained and there were many activities.

A pleasant surprise! by LisaK11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have a preference for the bigger ships and this one did not disappoint me. We were impressed from the minute we got on the boat. I really did not want to cruise on Carnival, but because we were taking 4 teenagers, we wanted to depart from Galveston to avoid buying 6 plane tickets. I should not have worried. I'm beginning to wonder if there really is a "bad" cruise out there! The ship layout seemed confusing on a few floors, but after a couple of days that's not a problem. The ship was kept nice and clean, the decor is attractive and provided a very pleasant atmosphere.

An AMAZING cruise!! by ChristineB5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Carnival Conquest was beautiful! This was my first cruise so I wasn't sure what to expect, but WOW!! The staff was excellent!! We had an ocean view room, but my husband and I decided that next time we would have a room with a balcony. Our room was really nice and had a large closet and drawers to hold all of our clothes. It also had a small safety deposit box that could be opened and locked with a driver's license. It was great for keeping our passports, money etc. when we didn't want to carry them with us. There were a lot of windows on the ship, so even if you didn't have an ocean view room/ balcony there were many opportunities to see the water. There were many decks to lie out on and enjoy the view as well. Plenty of lounge chairs to go around! We ate in the Monet Dining room. It was so beautiful! The menu would change everyday to offer a great variety. The food was absolutely wonderful and the waiters etc. were the best I have ever seen. Coming from someone who has worked in the restaurant industry I was most impressed. Our favorite bar was the "Blues" bar. A medium size group of people singing hit songs while a man plays them right there on his piano. Very funny! Also, photographers will take pictures every night, some formal some casual and some at the ports of call. You do not have to pay for any if you don't want, but they do make great souvenirs. Some other things to keep in mind: be prepared to pay for all sodas and bar drinks, excursions for the ports of call, any pictures you want to purchase, gratuities etc. You will receive a "Sail and Sign" card that will be linked to a major credit card of yours (or a cash deposit). EVERYTHING you purchase on the ship will be charged to this card. Make sure you have plenty of room left on it so you can enjoy these other things. Knowing this will help you decide how much cash you should bring, because you won't actually be purchasing anything with cash on the ship, except you can use it in the Casino. Also, all ports of call except U.S. dollars so you don't have to worry about exchanging you money. And the information desk on board can give you change etc. for your larger bills if needed. This was the first cruise for my husband and I and it definitely won't be our last. Thank you Carnival Conquest!!

Above Expectation by Jb41

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Take Time to learn the ship the first day. Easy to get turned around with all the restaurants. Don't miss the Calamari and other seafood upstairs in casual dinning room. Locate the Deli window, the asian grill, and the Pizzaria along with the two "Starbuck Type" Kiosks if you like cappucino's. We never made the main dinning rooms during the day and should have according to other cruisemates. We were told Eggs Bennedict was good there in the mornings. With us it was all about food and relaxation. Evening meals in the dinning rooms were awsome, but we didn't like late seating. We chose cruise time when teens and children were in school, so there were very few young people on the ship to run up and down halls. The only noise that would have been disturbing if we weren't early risers would have been the Service carts going down the middle of the ship behind the interior rooms at 5-6 am in the morning. It probably would not bother sound sleeper. For price of the interior, it was minor. Chose your room about 1/3 from rear of ship and wave action will be minimal. Pack only what you can carry if you don't want to wait hours before disembarkation. Security is tight everywhere. Lower levels are last off ship. It was after noon before we made it to our car and the ship docked at 6am. Use collapsible luggage and it will slide under beds to allow for more room and closet space. Our interior room was very spacious and bath comfortably arranced with plenty of sink counter space. We are not big carnival fans, but this cruise was excellent. I think the age of the passengers made a difference. Ports of Call - Montego Bay is not a place to get off ship unless in a closely suppervised situation. Don't get on Shopping tour that drops you off! Cozumel - Stay on main street if you walk and shop. Heard of situation with Moped renters from another ship being lured to off street to return moped and they were held up by what we were told was mexican moffia and police together. One guy took off running to port authority and his friends were rescued buy lost money, passports, etc. and had to catch ride home on our ship. Grand Caymen was absolutely beautiful and lovely shopping, food, etc. - Felt safe walking around George Town. Hope this helps future cruisers. Ladies and Gents don't miss the Afternoon Teas on Sea Days!!! It's a nice freeby. Great sweets, tea sandwiches, and top notch musicians.
