Review summary

The Carnival Conquest was beautiful! This was my first cruise so I wasn't sure what to expect, but WOW!! The staff was excellent!! We had an ocean view room, but my husband and I decided that next time we would have a room with a balcony. Our room was really nice and had a large closet and drawers to hold all of our clothes. It also had a small safety deposit box that could be opened and locked with a driver's license. It was great for keeping our passports, money etc. when we didn't want to carry them with us. There were a lot of windows on the ship, so even if you didn't have an ocean view room/ balcony there were many opportunities to see the water. There were many decks to lie out on and enjoy the view as well. Plenty of lounge chairs to go around! We ate in the Monet Dining room. It was so beautiful! The menu would change everyday to offer a great variety. The food was absolutely wonderful and the waiters etc. were the best I have ever seen. Coming from someone who has worked in the restaurant industry I was most impressed. Our favorite bar was the "Blues" bar. A medium size group of people singing hit songs while a man plays them right there on his piano. Very funny! Also, photographers will take pictures every night, some formal some casual and some at the ports of call. You do not have to pay for any if you don't want, but they do make great souvenirs. Some other things to keep in mind: be prepared to pay for all sodas and bar drinks, excursions for the ports of call, any pictures you want to purchase, gratuities etc. You will receive a "Sail and Sign" card that will be linked to a major credit card of yours (or a cash deposit). EVERYTHING you purchase on the ship will be charged to this card. Make sure you have plenty of room left on it so you can enjoy these other things. Knowing this will help you decide how much cash you should bring, because you won't actually be purchasing anything with cash on the ship, except you can use it in the Casino. Also, all ports of call except U.S. dollars so you don't have to worry about exchanging you money. And the information desk on board can give you change etc. for your larger bills if needed. This was the first cruise for my husband and I and it definitely won't be our last. Thank you Carnival Conquest!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Very good food, especially in the Monet Dining room.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to almost every show and found them very entertaining. The only thing we didn't like were the comedians we saw. Their routines were kind of boring and not very funny. We didn't see all of them though, so the others might have been very good. My favorite shows were the magic show and the juggling.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter, his assistant and the bartender in the Monet Dining room were OUTSTANDING!! This best I have ever had! Our stateroom steward was great as well, always there if we ever needed anything. The housekeeping staff was great; our room always looked clean and perfect. Everyone we encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is HUGE, absolutely BEAUTIFUL and extremely clean!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our stateroom was great. We had an ocean view and LOTS of storage for our clothes. We didn't spend much time in the room with all the things to see on board so we felt it was the perfect sized room. The bed was comfortable and the room had lots of lighting. The only thing I didn't like is that there was no clock in our room. Of course my husbands watch worked just as well, except for an alarm clock.

Ports of call

Montego Bay, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Jamaica was beautiful, but be prepared to see some poorer areas. We went to a resort, I belive it was called Sun Hall for the day and the beach was amazing. My suggestion, if you don't know what you are going to do when you get there is to book a reservation at a local resort. It will include your transfer to and from as most of the time also include your drinks and food while you are there as well as other amenities the resort offers.
Don't Miss: Doctor's cave is suppossed to be one of the best beaches

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We just went shopping this time in Cozumel. The beach looked beautiful and it looked like there were lots of things to do; glass bottom boats, snorkeling, speeding boating etc.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
The most beautiful place I have EVER seen!! Great people, great beach, and a wonderful community! We went to "Sea Grape Beach". It was absolutely beautiful and the clearest water I have ever seen! We went snorkeling and it was amazing; lots of fish and sea life. Grand Cayman is definitely a place I will go again soon!

Pros: The staff, Grand Cayman, the food, and the beautiful ship

Cons: That there was no clock in our room
