Great reservations by craymom24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This whole cruise and experience was awesome. The ports were beautiful the ship was nice but most of all Brenda Gimbert our agent was incredibly knowledgeable about everything to do and where to go before we even got there. Her advice and recommendations I think made our trip more fun and enjoyable.

A relaxing time at sea by vwaloga

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

First staff of the Conquest were very good and helpful. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a good time. We did have some rough seas but made the best of it. Couple of problems we had were finding the pools closed , was told by staff closed due to rough seas, have been on cruises that were rougher than that and had all pools open. Found that too many slot machines, in Casino , that were not working and when we had problems with the others finding someone to help. The ship is dated and needs to be maintained better, confusion in finding pictures that were taking, some we never found. The dining room staff were fantastic went out of their way to get our orders and drinks plus they were very friendly almost like part of the family.

Dissappointing changes in Carnival by SuzetteB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We've been on four Carnival cruises and this will likely be our last.  The changes that Carnival has made over the past few years are very dissappointing to us.  We made the best of the situation but for the thousands of dollars it cost, we'll make a different cruise company choice in the future.  The ship Conquest was quite old and beat up...it needs some TLC.  The extended balcony stateroom we booked was abnormally small (compared to other ships in their line) and the bathroom was small and ugly. The TV didn't offer any PPV channels (although it was supposed to via the FAQ on their site) and the wireless connectivity was abysmal - I could rarely connect and it was so slow that messaging responses constantly timed out.  The public areas on the ship were ok although extremely understaffed.  There were large waits for everything from getting a specialty coffee or drink to purchasing a photo.  Guest services was both slow and rude in dealing with the problem we had upon arrival at the FLL airport and our purchased transfer to the ship.  We sat for nearly two hours waiting for our 'missing' bus and barely made it on the ship in time to sail.  We missed out on getting our embarkation photo and were rushed onto the ship as the last to board.  It was confusing and upsetting.  After talking with three different people, we received a letter in our room saying that we didn't qualify for a refund of the transfer fee of $32.  Following that we got a phone call saying we would be getting the refund...this was how the entire cruise went...confusion and a serious lack of organization on the part of the Carnival management.  It's obvious that they've cut back on staffing and that there are a lot of unseasoned employees - even excursion management for getting groups off the ship at the ports was a mess with employees arguing with each other on their walkies and getting angry with each other.  We've been on more expensive lines like RC and Celebrity and thought that Carnival was close enough in service (at a much lower price) when we first cruised with them.  Now, it's obvious that you're getting what you're paying for and the savings aren't enough to offset the lack of service as it currently stands so we'll be returning to the higher price/higher service level lines.  Carnival seems to have decided to cater to the lower common denominator and that is simply not enough for us.  We prefer to be treated like we matter - even if it costs us 25-30% more.  It's dissappointing that Carnival has chosen the low road.

Horrible Food!!! by mbc4934

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, I enjoyed this cruise. Staff was friendly and very accommodating......BUT I thought the food at the Cezanne Buffet was horrible!!!!! Very tasteless, the breakfast eggs were made of powder, the fried chicken was very dried out (overcooked), the desserts at the sweets bar had no taste (an example was the key lime pie), etc., etc., etc.Angry

A Most Excellent Vacation by jclaird47

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful time on our six day cruise aboard the Carnival Conquest. The food was superb and the service excellent. We were never for want of on-board entertainment, from the stage shows, comedy clubs and lounge entertainers to the varied activities conducted by the cruise director and staff.

Our ports of call were Jamaica, the Cayman's and Cozumel, and we took several enjoyable tours at each stop.

Whether on board or in port, we rose early and enjoyed the day for as long as our energy held out. We would end the  day listening to live music being played in various areas of the ship, or walk out on-deck enjoying the ocean air and listening to the sea.

A vacation to remember! by Marianna815

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had THE BEST time on Carnival Conquest! My family and I made reservations at The Point Steakhouse for the first night and that was the beginning of a GREAT vacation. The food was delicious and plentiful. I ordered the lamb chops entrée and it was cooked to perfection. There is a charge of $35 for the steakhouse and it was worth it. I would definitely eat there again, and if you go on the first night you will receive a free bottle of wine and you don't have to get dressed up!

After dinner we walked around and got acquainted with the ship. There are bars, restaurants and lounges in every nook of Conquest. There's also 2 pools, 1 on the Lido Deck and there is an area for adults (I believe it was on the 9th floor).

Our room steward (Satya) learned my family names the first night and kept our rooms spotless. The EA Sports bar was a little disappointing because there is no actual food in there, you have 2 choices, pizza and wings and that is ordered from room service and brought to the bar. But, Andrei is the bartender there and he was absolutely AWESOME! The comedy club is a must, but the lines were so long because the comedians were actually entertaining, you had to be in line at least 1 hour before show time to get a seat.

I have read a lot of bad reviews about this ship and I am so glad I didn't listen to them, otherwise I would have missed out on such a great time getting to know the GREAT crew and making wonderful memories with my family. Yes, she could use a little touch up here and there, but we watched that crew clean constantly. They wiped down bars stools, and we even saw them wiping down the walls and cleaning the hall way carpets in the mornings.

If you don't sweat the small stuff and just want to have a good time give her a try. Not every single little thing will be to your liking ( I HATED THE BAND), but who cares! There are so many things to do and so many choices for food. If

you can't enjoy yourself on this ship you probably shouldn't cruise. Carnival really gets a bad wrap from a lot of cruisers, but I haven't had a bad experience yet!

april cruise 2016 by rjandsons

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was great!  We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary!  Our statesman (GEDE) assign to us was very attentive to all of our needs.  He even had left us a $25 gift card for wine during stay.  Our room was service at least 3 times per day.  We booked the balcony room which we loved. The food was great.  We really enjoyed the Hamburger bar near the pool.  Drinks were excellent as well. There was always something going on as for as entertainment.  We were not able to see the comedy show due to being completely full.  Not enough seating.  We loved our excursions we booked.  I would recommend the catamaran in Jamacia and Surf & Turf in Cuzomel .  We had a blast.  Our only complaint was the smoke in the casino.  Can not wait to book our next cruise!!

Perfect sailing all the way by cubancruz60

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The boarding process was very well done.  The lunch at the lido was wonderful.  Our cabin was ready quickly and was very clean.  The steward was very friendly and efficient.  He took care of all our special needs with a big smile.  The stops were entertaining and the food was very good.  I particularly enjoyed the lectures given by Josh, the cruise director.  It made me feel that I was at a Holland America Ship, which I do enjoy as well.  The entertainment in general was good and the debarkation was extremely smooth.

Great Cruise on the Carnival Conquest by Cruiser0

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We loved the variety of ports which included St. Martin, San Juan PR, St. Kitts and Grand Turks.  Each port had something unique to do and we enjoyed it all.  Everyone loved our beach day at Grand Turks. As soon as you walk off the boat you step onto a great beach and pool facility all provided at no cost by the Margaritaville folks but there is plenty of opportunity to spend money there if you want.  Other highlights for us would include Old San Juan and the fort which is an amazing place to visit... and don't forget the free shuttle!

The ship was great.  Some of us enjoyed movie nights on the Lido deck and most of us got more than our fill at Guy's burger joint.

Poor room placement by travel agent by parrothead115

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise in itself was fun.  After the first night on the cruise we realized that we were placed right above the club.  This club holds late night events and comedy shows that often use profane language.  We booked almost a year in advance so there was no reason why we should have been placed there without being notified.  I spoke to Samantha about trying to make this right.  However, all she did was apologize and say that she usually checks that.  we had three rooms with children so it was impossible to move us by the time the ship was already out.  We were very displeased and already booked a new cruise but not with spirit travel.

Great Cruise by knetzley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This is my third cruise and it was great!. The service was excellent. Our cabins were always perfect and our dining staff was was a great team.  We had Robin, Ivana, and a young lady that goes by Maria. We did have a glitch in that on the first night, we were not all seated at the same table-the head staff at the restaurant corrected this for night 2.  The excursions were fun-however i did not like that if you came back from an excursion past 2:30-there were very few places to grab a snack till dinner, what options were available, had a horribly long line.  Also, i slipped and fell just outside the restroom on one of the decks-i ended up spraining my ankle-this certainly took away from my cruise experience.  However the medical staff was nice and helpful should you need them..

Excellent cruise! by navira22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our family's first time sailing on the Carnival Conquest. It was also our first time on a Southern Caribbean itinerary, and therefore, our first time sailing to these ports. We were not disappointed with anything.

Not as bad as a lot of the other reviews say.

Carnival Conquest by omeliososa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)

Overall was a good cruise. There should be more attention to get people to use hand sanitizers.  Dinning room service was slow.  First cruise I've noticed that do not use tablecloth in dinning room.  No paper towels in restrooms.  Evening shows were mediocre.

Not the best Cruise by kat4fun

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had ship problems so got to Jamaica 3 hours late. Getting off the ship to the port was a horrible experience. 2000 trying to get on buses at the same time. There was no help or guidance. People were pushing and shoving. At that port we just kept get offering Brownies.  The Grand Caymans were Wonderful!!. The ship appeared to the older and children were allows to be in the casino bar and at times blocked the bar so adults could not get up to the bar for drinks. No one from Carnival attempted to correct this.
