Review summary

The cruise in itself was fun.  After the first night on the cruise we realized that we were placed right above the club.  This club holds late night events and comedy shows that often use profane language.  We booked almost a year in advance so there was no reason why we should have been placed there without being notified.  I spoke to Samantha about trying to make this right.  However, all she did was apologize and say that she usually checks that.  we had three rooms with children so it was impossible to move us by the time the ship was already out.  We were very displeased and already booked a new cruise but not with spirit travel.

My wife and I just took a great cruise on the Conquest but made the mistake of being on Deck 6 right above the casino/bands. Won't make that mistake again! Other than that, one of the best cruises we have done. Just one of the things you learn.

I check the deck plan on apps like this and usually book on the Empress Deck which puts a passenger deck above me with no clubs etc and a deck below me so it is much quieter.

cmcdanielinbnc: No, you're not the only one. I always check out the space above and below when booking. I don't mind being close to the elevators...we take and use earplugs on cruises. One time, when I failed to investigate before booking, I booked a cabin right under the Lido deck. OMG, the scraping of chairs went on all night until the breakfast ended each day.

I always check the deck plans for this very reason.

Just got off the Sunshine cabin 8301. It was next to the elevators and under the Havana bar, we did not experience any noise.

No, I too try try to research the location in detail after an "free upgrade" resulted in having to listen to chairs scraping every 4 a.m. I guess I'd prefer them to be upfront with potential annoyances.

Am I the only person that makes sure they are sandwiched between two staterooms? Always get a room with another room above and below if you are opposed to noise from public areas

Drives me bonkers. They all know the noisy, stinky, and chair-scraping rooms but pretend not to when you book.

Pegasus2814 what was your room number? We are booked on Conquest april 30th

It was directly aft under the lido/Havana Club. aft extended balcony..Cant recall the exact stateroom number...Went on the Sunshine again this last Feb on a13 day Carnival Journey and had a Spa/Serenity 11008..On this cruise it was wonderfully quiet and right off the Serenity waterfall .Very very nice! And full included Spa privileges..5 grand however is a bit steep for even 13 days..but we had $ 2500 of accumulated Carnival Card bucks to make it way cheaper. And it was our 1st Diamond VIFP level cruise.

Spirit Travel is the worst. They are more of a marketing firm anyway and they would only have access to a certain block of rooms. A simple Google of them will say it all. Always look at the deck plans and pick your own room. Work with a Carnival PVP. The rule of thumb is surround youself with other rooms, including the level above and below you.

We had a similar issue when we went on the Carnival Sunshine when they added the Havana Club at the rear of the ship where we always book a room we were right underneath the band and it played salsa music till 1:30 in the morning Crystal Clear ...now I always check what's above and below I can handle the deck chairs moving around but when you have a band playing till 1:30 in the morning real loud that's a whole nother ballgame

Always best to check on where on the ship u r. We make sure not to be right next to elevators and not above casinos either...
