Let's Chase That Sun 🌞 by capturecruising

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Britannia

Enjoyable solo cruise on a reliable ship. Some hiccups along the way but nothing that ruined the holiday. Very busy but this is to be expected during summer with 700 kids onboard. Fantastic ports of call with decent weather throughout.

Loved the ship and decor by DCowen

Brilliant cruise overall with amazing ports in Norway. Loved Britannia as a ship with great venues. It coped very well with nearly 4000 passengers. Service could be much improved across the line.

Great fun by Mierstal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia

First time cruiser and it exceeded all expectations. Food was excellent and limelight club was well worth the extra money (Ray Quinn on top form). The other onboard entertainment evenings were hit and miss but not going to complain! Norway is beautiful, drinks on onboard were good value and the staff were amazing.

Despite being P&O's flagship, Britannia fell woefully short by LeeAucote

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia

Overall, my cruise aboard Britannia offered a mix of memorable experiences and areas for improvement. While the ship's entertainment, such as the magic show and Gravity performance, provided moments of delight, issues with dining, cabin accommodations, and onboard activities left me wanting more. The ship's visit to Olden and Flam stood out as a highlight, with its beautiful landscapes and rich cultural experiences. However, the port of Haugesund was underwhelming due to its industrial nature and lack of attractions, making it the weaker stop on my itinerary. Taking all factors into account, my cruise experience was a blend of highs and lows, leaving room for enhancement in several areas.

A solid 6/10 by joecruises

Britannia is showing its age, which is a shame for a flagship. The staff are wonderful though which more than makes up for it.

P&O tot what it once was by colquhounr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia / Destination: Caribbean

Not the experience it once was, great for 1st time cruise but poor if you were on older ships. People were fighting over deck chairs and some were put off at one stop!

Benidorm on water by colquhounr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia

Ship is too big. People were literally fighting for sunbeds. P and O not what it once was. If you have done previous cruises on smaller ships you will hate it.

Caribbean Delight by ChisNel

Great itinerary on this cruise, the good far outwayed the bad by a long way. Missed the Customer Service standards of RCCL. Would definitely consider again.

Amazing first cruise by TomEnimatek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia

Our cruise was relatively short at only 5 days. It went from Southampton UK to the Netherlands before visiting Belgium on the way back to Southampton. There were plenty of things to do on shore and the line operated excursions were brilliant, the staff were knowledgeable and offered incredible insights into the locations we visited.

Not up to P&O Standard by frogemax

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Britannia

First week was okay - enjoyed La Coruna, Palma Mallorca and La Spezia. Don't like Brittania at all. Overall dowdy decor, no atmosphere in any of the bars etc. Entertainment was lacking and same old recycled sets. Captain never once put in an appearance. Denied the amount of covid cases... Captain mentioned that there were a tiny amount of isolating passengers - in truth, all isolating areas were full and we were kept in our original cabin along with many other sufferers. When isolating there is no communication, promises of check you are not kept and food was a nightmare to order and cold when it eventually arrived. Will never go on this ship again.

Fourth cruise by craigford

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Britannia

I never had high expectations for the Britannia after viewing herself online, hearing about the loss of the promenade deck, to the lack of a central staircase in the mid area of the ship but I tried to keep myself hopeful. Upon boarding, I instantly felt like everything I had read online was true. I missed the promenade, and entering the ‘grand’ atrium wasn’t a wow factor at all.. if anything lacklustre. It really wasn’t what it seemed. It felt like a sophisticated shopping mall/hotel with really posh piano music constantly going, when the majority of people are of younger age (which was strange in general for P&O). You then come to notice throughout the ship everything is moody blue, brown, and muted grey which can become very drab. The theatre is small, compared to American ships such as Royal Caribbean. If you want food past 11 you may as well forget that as there isn’t anything really to offer. The ship is a ghost ship by 9PM. COVID has lost the touch of even feeling the slightest bit tipsy as you cannot order from a bar, and table service takes a while. When wanting to travel the ships decks from the mid area, it had to be done by the lifts which involved a lot of waiting and fighting for a lift. The fact there is no staircase is absurd, this also relates to the ONE main staircase in the Atrium that at full capacity I have no idea how it copes. Even with half capacity people were at very close proximity on this staircase. People like to take photos on it to, so you get held up a few times. Now let’s get to the god awful layout of this ship. I honestly cannot stress enough I haven’t seen this on any other ship, but to get to some specific destinations you have to go up a deck to go down a deck or two.. or you have to go to one side of the ship to come back around on yourself to get to a specific location. It took days to understand this layout, compared to hours on other ships. Our cabin was in the mid area of the ship, and was only accessible by lifts, you could not use the front or aft staircases. The food in the buffet was very limited at all times, but the steak in the fine dining epicurean was delicious. The beach house is also a great place to dine. One of my favourite places on the ship is Brodies, the British Pub, which is the most active place on the ship. If you are looking for a casino onboard, this one is very small. All in all, I wouldn’t book on the Britannia again, and don’t agree this is the flagship for P&O. I sailed with first timers, and they wouldn’t return to cruising due to the experience they had on this ship. THIS IS GOING IN CAPITAL LETTERS BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE FOR P&O TO SEE THIS, PLEASE TURN ON THE STABILISERS WHEN THE SEA IS ROUGH. It is not fair for thousands of people to be throwing up, and feeling faint when they have spent years saving and waiting for a holiday of a life time. The bay of biscay may not have been bad for the Captain and some.. but it was enough to grant those stabilisers to be active.
