Review summary

Our cruise was relatively short at only 5 days. It went from Southampton UK to the Netherlands before visiting Belgium on the way back to Southampton. There were plenty of things to do on shore and the line operated excursions were brilliant, the staff were knowledgeable and offered incredible insights into the locations we visited.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Had to wait for a little while in the cruise terminal and working out where to go and what we had to do when we were first on board was a little confusing. We had to wait quite a while for our bags to arrive at our room but our cabin steward was lovely and incredibly helpful.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was lovely in all the restaurants we visited. The waiters and staff were very knowledgeable and made good recommendations. The drinks were all lovely and every recommended cocktails from the crew were amazing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment on board was incredible, notably the singer who performed most nights in the atrium.

Service and Staff

Crew were lovely and incredibly helpful. It seemed that the crew couldn't help us more whenever we asked for anything - nothing was too much trouble. One of the bar crew in the crows nest noticed us playing cards and came round multiple times to show us card tricks they knew which were fantastic to watch.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was clean and surprisingly spacious. The balcony was comfortably sized for two people and we spent a lot of time there. Our cabin steward was lovely and greeted us by name whenever we saw her despite only one formal introduction. This was a really lovely touch as I'm sure she must meet and interact with many people each cruise.

Ship tip

Allow yourself plenty of time to do everything you want onboard, especially on a shorter cruise. The daily schedule was really helpful in looking at all the events for the next day and planning what we wanted to do onboard, it was easy to miss something so plan ahead.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy and happened quicker than the ship expected. This meant we didn't have to wait for our disembarkation time and we were able to leave with no fuss or queue. Our baggage was ready and waiting for us, no complaints there. I did feel a little rushed off the ship as we were woken early to people moving in the corridor and crew moving bags outside the rooms although I do understand turning over an entire ship for the next set of guests is a huge effort.
