A: We are on her in Spain right now, you can't even get a simple milkshake, the ship feels penny pinched sadly, we are moving our next year's booking to another Ship, perhaps back to Arvia, Iona or another line entirely..

Q: We’re joining Britannia on 21st June for second trip to the fjords. I have a simple question- are the bars serving Peroni lager or Birra Moretti. We had Peroni back in 2018 but the latest adverts are showing Birra Moretti. May seem trivial to some as I love them both but Peroni gives me a banging headache. Oh well I can always opt for the vodka and tonic I suppose. Looking forward to seeing you guys, let’s get this party started.

Q: I have travel insurance. Will I need separate health insurance to travel to Norway like the EHIC?
Thumbs Up
0
A: Getting an EHIC/GHIC is free and is often something insurers require, and the UK Government actually recommend having both.
Answered by joecruises on September 23, 2023
A: In the UK, EHIC has been replaced by the GHIC, Global Health Insurance Card. Neither are usable in Norway anyway and neither replace travel insurance which is a far more important policy to have. You can use a UK passport to get medically necessary h... ealthcare in Norway e.g. emergency treatment but you’ll still pay which is why insurance is important. .See More
Answered by MidsCouple on September 30, 2023
A: @MidsCouple. I'd have thought talking about insurers made it clear I meant a GHIC/EHIC and travel insurance but clearly some people need everything spelled out for them...
Answered by joecruises on October 1, 2023
A: Joecruises. The government do not advise having both because GHIC is a replacement for EHIC, it’s not something that runs alongside it. If someone has a valid EHIC, they can still use it in the countries in which it applies but when it expires they’d... need to replace it with a GHIC.See More

Answered by Dinkymaid on August 8, 2023
A: we paid extra for the retreat. (entry with a pass key just beyond Serenity to the front of the ship) Serenity area is free to use.

Q: Sorry all us again. How much luggage are you allowed on Britannia. For 2 of us would we be allowed 2 medium cases, a hold-all & 2 rucksacks?
Thumbs Up
1
A: you can have as much as you want, we take 2 cases, a cabin size case a large holdall and a ruck sack for two of us.
Answered by Bazzo on July 20, 2023
A: From Southampton you can take as much as you like. We take 2 large cases, 2 medium cases and 2 hanging cases. If they don't all fit in your cabin ask the steward to put them in storage until you need to pack. Make sure no case is over 23kg.
Answered by taylor858 on July 22, 2023
A: It’s actually more than 20kg. From P&O: “Sailings from/to SouthamptonYou can bring as many bags as you can comfortably fit into your cabin, but each item of luggage should weigh no more than 23kg for safety and handling purposes. If an item exceeds 2... 3kg at embarkation you will be recalled to the terminal and asked to remove items or repack your bags. Your baggage may also be delayed at disembarkation if you exceed this limit. You may also wish to use our luggage courier service”See More
Answered by BreakingBass on July 21, 2023
A: You can take as much as you want if sailing from Southampton, cases will fit under the bed if they don't open them flat, they will fit then, cases should be 20KG max.

Answered by SaznDave on July 12, 2023
A: If you plan for arriving in port at 8am and departure at 4pm you will not be far away. I have just returned from a cruise on iona in the fjords so these times are based on very recent experience. Hope this helps.
Answered by taylor858 on July 12, 2023
A: We just took this cruise. P&O are one of the only lines not to publish port times, you can discover some times on local port websites but even these changed for several ports. Flåm we were an hour ahead and Haugesund our port times and tours were mov... ed 30minutes earlier. I used the timings of the trips they were selling to calculate any trips I booked myself. For example the train in Flam, the last time they were selling was 14.15 for the 14.35 train.See More

Q: just had email to say upgrade bidding is now open. is this a new thing they do? what happens if your not chosen for an upgrade?
Thumbs Up
0
A: I believe this is a new thing. You bid for a type of room better than the grade you're in but it could be anywhere on the ship. I also prefer to buy select price because I can guarantee a decent night's sleep. At the front and back, it sways a lot an... d Engine noise is an issue. I book midship maybe halfway up. Not near a crew service lift either. I wouldn't recommend anyone try upgrade bidding.See More
Answered by Tom1032 on August 7, 2023
A: From what I understand, you put a bid in for an upgrade but are not guaranteed to get the cabin you want. I prefer to pay select price and choose the cabin I want.

Q: if you don't spend your onboard credit, does it roll over onto your next cruise? thanks

A: Don’t leave it to the last minute to spend either. Shops on Britannia on the last evening were closed earlier than usual!
Answered by andycha on June 19, 2023
A: It doesn’t Roll over and if you cancel you can loose it. There is so many ways to get used. UK residents may bring in 4 Litres each so that’s a good start.

A: Have a great first cruise. You will be back for more I am sure.
Answered by taylor858 on September 24, 2022
A: The cabins are all pretty similar, the grades are more to do with where they are on the ship. The higher the grade, the more desirable the location of the cabin.
Answered by teamstewart on September 23, 2022
A: Your codes indicate that you have a partial or restricted view balcony cabin situated mid aft or mid forward. Low cabin numbers will be mid forward and higher numbers mid aft.
