Review summary

Enjoyable solo cruise on a reliable ship. Some hiccups along the way but nothing that ruined the holiday. Very busy but this is to be expected during summer with 700 kids onboard. Fantastic ports of call with decent weather throughout.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation at the Ocean Cruise Terminal was efficient and swift as always. Plenty of reps to help you if needed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet was very busy on sea days, which is to be expected during summer season. It was sometimes a struggle to find cutlery but staff were helpful. Choice in the Horizon was good with rotating menues each day. Lido Grill offered some delicious burgers also.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
A good selection of onboard activities available during the core day. Nothing really for adventure seekers but some relaxing activities onboard.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Headliner shows were very good. A nice selection of comedians and singers throughout the cruise. Parties on the Lido deck were also a blast in the warm Mediterranean weather.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff work really hard to make the holiday special and cannot fault any of them for the service they provided.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship is well designed with a choice of quiet or noisy areas. On sea days it was very busy on the top decks and could have benefited from a larger prommenade to space people out more. Ship was regularly being cleaned and have no complaints here.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was very nice, well designed and felt spacious. Located close to forward stairwell. Balcony beginning to show its age with rust and damage.

Ship tip

Pre-book entertainment early to secure a space.

Ports of call

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
Terminal is located in city with easy access. Beaches located about a 30 minute walk away.

Cagliari, Sardinia

4 out of 5
Long walk to nearest beach. Decent walk up to castle with some great panoramic views of Cagliari. Payment required to enter the castle.

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
Very nice terminal built here. Decent beach located 10 minute walk from terminal with bars and restaurants. Nice hiking trail here as well.

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Long stay in port, nice walk around shore to castle and town.

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Embarkation port but good access from town to terminal.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

3 out of 5
Not a lot to do without paying for Nature Pass to climb rock. Small port area and limited stay in port.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Several delays with disembarkation meaning that I didn't leave the ship until 11:15. However staff were very accommodating and dealt with these challenges well. A smooth process overall.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise as much as we did. We managed to get off fairly swiftly this time but I always find this part the most difficult-we said next time we would grab a very early breakfast up top and then take ourselves off early-if I can pack lighter of course! Did you get to the limelight club at all-we saw Joel in the first week and enjoyed it very much.
