Lovely cruise with elderly parents and older teen children.

Embarkation

Easy enough, didn’t have to wait for very long

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
main dining rooms were lovely, each with a feel of their own. Menu tended to be very similar but great food though.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Did a few quizzes, and talks. Disappointed not to have had third officer Joe present for one scheduled talk though. That ages old issue of towels on sun beds for far too long so difficult to lay out in the sun!

Cabin / Stateroom

Lovely cabin steward, very friendly and accommodating

Ship tip

Book limelight club before sailing as price goes up once onboard we found.

Ports of call

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

We took a taxi (4 adults) to the Hippie Market as we were there on a Wednesday, cost about 35€ afterwards we walked a nearby beach which had a lovely bakery and then caught a bus back to Elvissa which is where the cruise shuttle bus takes you to. This is a nice town to go around also if you didn’t want to go any further.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

Ship docks right by town-beautiful walk along to beach-great if you fancy a beach day, lots of natural shaded areas to rest. Town in wonderful and cathedral is amazing.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

Great port, especially if first stop you can grab anything you’ve forgotten or stock up on snacks as crisps onboard are expensive. It’s like being in a British high street.

Malaga, Spain

One of our favs, hop off hop on bus recommended, we stayed on from the port terminal, hour and a half, then got off where we fancied. Beach five mins from port, 2 sun beds and umbrella was 14euros.

Cagliari, Sardinia

Visited a lovely museum and cathedral. Bit of a steep trek but great views. We preferred the Spanish port overall.

Thanks retiredray, cruise was great overall and we had a balcony cabin so had our own outside space-but just wish folks would be considerate with pool area sunbathing - heard one chap say he saved six beds either side of the adult only pool so his later arriving group could decide on shade or sun!!!! Not worth causing an argument over tho I didn’t feel.

Glad you had a mostly good trip, sounds like the ubiquitous chair hogs dented it a bit.
