Loved the ports, disappointed in RCCL by Grammy2000

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Loved this cruise. If we didn't have to fly so far, this would definitely be on our agenda again.

I've lost faith in Royal Caribbean by stevejensen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

I've taken 6 or 7 cruises on Royal Caribbean in the past but after this cruise I am no longer looking at Royal Caribbean cruises. They have lost my business.

Disappointed by llanier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Did not get to see glaciers as expected. Our Captain opted to skip Tracy Arm Fjord and neglected to cruise closer to Hubbard like other cruise ships.

Royal Int NEVER AGAIN after this trip.... by uacaver

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

We PAID for cruise based on stops and length of stops & such... However we DIDN'T GET WHAT WE PAID FOR.... was GREAT!!! All of our changes were made by ROYAL CARIBBEAN INT and they made these changes without any onboard credits / future credits / explanations / or apology! NOT HOW WE WANTED TO HAVE OUR 1ST CRUISE TO ALASKA TO GO - This was our 7th CRUISE but 1st and LAST with ROYAL! We are STILL trying to get REFUNDS for booked shore excursions that were cancelled due to lack of time or skipping stop/port.

We had a great stateroom attendant and a great dining room server. I would suggest going on Holland America or Princess to Alaska, though. Those cruiselines get the best docks. We had to take shuttles to downtown in every port by barbpol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

The cruise was fun overall. I would suggest people use Holland America and Princess in Alaska, though. they get better dock space and don't have to shuttle to the main areas.

Beautiful Sights but Old Ship by amy99633359

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

It is an older ship with not a lot of activity. This definitely appeals to an older crowd. The food options were average and the buffet was terrible. All of the staff were wonderful. The medical emergencies and evacuations were unbelievable. We had a total of five. Each one took so long that we were constantly delayed and missed the Tracy Arm Fjord. No effort was made to reschedule. Since it wasn't a stop, it was a cruise through the area, I feel like they could have at least made an effort. This was sad on so many levels.

It was horrible. None of the excursions were as accessable as needed by kkane714

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Doubtful we will cruise RC again. In Ketchikan we tried to get on the excursion bus . It had a wheelchair tiedown. However the staff said none of them were trained on how to operate it.....UNFORGIVABLE

Alaska bound cruise - Mixed Feeling by TweedyTies

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Alaska bound cruise where you can see wild life and be close to the nature. Did not meet the expectation about Glacier view as I expected it much closer. But, we are always with the nature and was lucky to see breaching and swimming whales, orcas etc. Of course bald eagles are many a lot. This is not a partying cruise, the audience is families and aged people. There were five personal emergencies where the ship had to return to port twice delaying trips and calling for reroutes.

Child behavior issues by Justbeinghonest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

A very big issue among many cruisers, and we heard this from several ... was the lack of discipline amongst many of their children. There was chasing, yelling and similar inappropriate behavior with ZERO intervention by parents or crew. Waiting for one theatre show to start, some of these kids were sitting up on the stage near the monitors. An unrelated woman went down and told them to get off the stage. Many in the audience applauded her action. There were no ushers at any shows to assist or direct attendees. On more than one occasion there were several children from the same group swimming in the 16 plus only pool with lifeguards doing nothing. This sort of behavior on a cruise is unacceptable and will dissuade many passengers from future sailings with this cruise line.

Decent experience by nish27882

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Overall an ok experience. Most places on the cuise including swimming pools, hot tubs, dining rooms are overcrowded. The best part was cruising Tracy Arm Fjord. Not visiting Hubbard glacier was a bummer.

Once on the ship... AWESOME by videotim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Incredible scenery and great food and beer at the different ports. Getting through the airport and port in Vancouver tested every once of patience due to log jam of people through customs and security.
