We PAID for cruise based on stops and length of stops & such... However we DIDN'T GET WHAT WE PAID FOR.... was GREAT!!! All of our changes were made by ROYAL CARIBBEAN INT and they made these changes without any onboard credits / future credits / explanations / or apology! NOT HOW WE WANTED TO HAVE OUR 1ST CRUISE TO ALASKA TO GO - This was our 7th CRUISE but 1st and LAST with ROYAL! We are STILL trying to get REFUNDS for booked shore excursions that were cancelled due to lack of time or skipping stop/port.
Embarkation

There were 3 ships leaving from the same port on the same day - even after doing what we were told we had to do to speed up things for getting on ship including setting up a embarkation time, we ended up spending about 2 1/2 hours trying to get on ship - then barely had time for lunch before ship took it away and then guess what its dinner time... Could and should have gone smoother!

The Main Dining & Buffett (only ONE on this ship) had basically the same items only difference was Main Dining food was served to you - Buffett you serve yourself. I have been on 6 other cruises with 2 different Cruise Lines and ALL OF THEM HAD BETTER LOOKING & TASTING FOOD and longer hours for food with more than one Buffett, Overall compared to other Cruise Lines Food & Drink items were very disappointing. Sadly... Meal times were so narrow that we found ourselves rushing in order to not miss out on eating for the evening. Again other cruise lines we have used had food available nearly all evening.
Onboard Activities

We didn't take advantage of many of these items due to large crowds or items closed with small window of time to use such.
Entertainment

We enjoyed listing to some of the music - but overall it was average. Not high energy like we have experienced on other ships.

Our Waiters & Room Stewards were GREAT! Our Guest Services with regards to any issues were basically A BUST! NO HELP AT ALL even when we had a bathroom issue.... ask your Room Steward but as great as he was he was not a Repairman!

Room was fine.... A bit on the4 small size but worked for us & with the exception of a bathroom issue that took a few days to correct all was good.
Ship tip
AVOID THIS SHIP! At EVERY PORT/STOP we were to make we had a change of itenerary ever single day - late to some ports / leaving early from some ports / arriving late & leaving early from same port / skipping stops / etc... Ship had areas closed throut cruise for paint or varnish or something... We overheard some crew from the Bridge discussing that a Stabilizer on the ship was not working but never could get that varified! I can tell you with ALL of the changes and painting and such - we NEVER WAS GIVEN AN ANSWER WHY SO MANY CHANGES nor were we given ship CREDIT or even an Apology!! I know from pics and videos it wasnt becayse of weather! Still to thius date trying to get some type of refund for shore excursions that were missed due to changes thruout cruise. Maybe its THIS SHIP maybe its ROYAL INT CRUISE LINE... I just knoiw it was our first Royal Int Cruise & now will be our LAST!
We rented our own car & had a BLAST! WE did again have a change - we arrived EARLY buy for some reason LEFT EARLY as well so we had to juggle our rentals and such... Had the timne changes noit have happened we would have enjoyed it more - lucky for us our car rental was able to work with us.
We arrived at entrance and WATCHED 2 SHIPS GO IN AND CLOSE - Just like OUR SHIP WAS SUPPOISE TO DO.... But then we turned a 1/2 turn and began to SAIL AWAY.... Again when we asked Guest Services what happened.... No EXCUSE! NO HELP! NO CREDITS! NO APOLOGY!!! We bought a cruise for such reasons but didnt get what we paid for! EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING !!!!!!!!! I FELT CHEATED
The itinerary issues were out of the cruise lines control. The food quality is something they can address.
Sorry the vacation was not as you had hoped. I do hope you have some good family memories of the trip.
Sometimes it's not up to Royal Caribbean the ports that you miss. So it's not actually their fault. And if you read your cruise contract it explains everything that things can change and will change and they don't owe you anything. Maybe you should stop going on Royal Caribbean because we did

Your cruise contract explicitly says that the cruise line has discretion to change itinerary. However, you definitely should get refunded for any excursion that was booked through the line.
