It is an older ship with not a lot of activity. This definitely appeals to an older crowd. The food options were average and the buffet was terrible. All of the staff were wonderful. The medical emergencies and evacuations were unbelievable. We had a total of five. Each one took so long that we were constantly delayed and missed the Tracy Arm Fjord. No effort was made to reschedule. Since it wasn't a stop, it was a cruise through the area, I feel like they could have at least made an effort. This was sad on so many levels.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Royal Caribbean did a fine job, but there was a strike that caused long delays
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The staff was wonderful, the main dining room food was average for a cruise. The buffet was a terrible experience. It was poorly laid out and folks had to cross paths multiple times, which felt very chaotic. It was also hard to find a seat. The buffet food was less than mediocre.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We played trivia and enjoyed the thermal suite in the spa ($30/day for a pass). A lot of trivia and kids options, but lacking overall.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The stage shows were not good. Singers were talented, but one of them talked 5x more than he sang. The DJ played the same songs over and over. The "nightclub" had nothing going on.
Service and Staff

Great staff. Friendly and helpful
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The biggest plus is that there is a lot of storage in your cabin. However, it's just an old ship in need of updates. When you sit in a deck chair, the view is blocked by the railing. This drove me crazy. The layout of the buffet was terrible and chaotic. All decor and fixtures were out of date.
Cabin / Stateroom

A lot of storage and very clean. Shower was tiny but had great water pressure.
The window was dirty and hard to see out of.
Ship tip
This is an older ship and catered to and older crowd. You need to be content with watching the beautiful scenery and not looking for a lot of action. It did seem like the children's activities were enjoyed by those who had kids.
We loved the city of Vancouver, but due to a strike, embarkation was long. We had two medical evacuations before we ever set sail that caused us to be four hours late departing.
We had an awesome excursion with Gallant Adventures. We had more medical evacuations that caused us to be so late leaving that we missed our trip to Tracy Arm Fjord. This was so sad and disappointing on so many levels.
The process for medical evacuations took so long that we were unable to leave port on time and they canceled. We felt terrible for the families involved in the medical situations, but there should have been a better protocol. They did not announce that we were skipping the Fjord until noon the next day with a note on our stateroom door. We should have already completed the cruise of Tracy Arm (6:30-10:30am) before we ever got the notification about missing the itinerary. There should have been some effort made to complete this portion of our trip on another sea day, or something. They just canceled and said too bad. Since we booked the cruise specifically to see this, it was extremely disappointing.
Fun port. But, our excursion guide (Clanhouse Tours) never showed up. By this point it was too late to book anything else, so we didn't see as much as we would have liked.
Overall, it was easy, except that for some reason they never linked the two people in our stateroom to the same card for payment, so my husband was flagged for nonpayment and had to go back to Guest Services on the way off of the ship.
