Don't book the NorthStar on a sea day. Cancellation is more likely to happen while at sea. Book as much as you can before you cruise due to the lack of availability while on board. Ask about extra padding for the bed before you go. They may be able to add a pad or something.
When you board you go to your cabin right away and your sea pass are at your room. Lots of people were wondering around wondering what to do when they arrived on board.
The elevators are slow and breakdown a lot. Many people use them and queue forms regularly, waiting time can be 5-10 mins. So make sure you are not more than the 6th or 7th floor because you can use the stairs to reach the dining, bars and entertainment venues, which are on the 4th floor.
More Family dining options. It felt like either it was adult dining or pizza and sandwiches if you didn't want to battle the buffet. I would have liked something in between the two where I didn't have to constantly feel like I was shushing the kids and was able to eat more than just pizza or hot dog
Check reviews, something is wrong on that ship you fill everything from sea sick to noise , not the best vac , I had cabing #7512 but we were getting sea sick on the windjammer at the 14 floor, and at stores on the 4floor so it was not our cabing it was the ship it self, look into it.
Get the drink package people...and the photo package was worth it too...I got 275 professional pictures....very happy with my choices!!!! also please reserve your RIPCORD and NORTH STARS..LINES are long without reservations!!! Most of all have TONS OF FUN....so many things to do you'll never be bored!!!!
The dining is a little confusing, they need to clarify that better to the passageners. I had the My Dine eating option, took me two days to figure out where I was able to eat other than the buffet. If you choose the My Dine option, it is recommended that you make reservations for dining, it gets very crowded.
Make your reservations for the iFly and the Eye in the Sky rides as early as possible, before you get on the ship. I booked my trip only a month before sail and could not get on either ride.
You NEED to book anything you want to do on the ship or excursions in advanced. Make sure to head straight to guest services to book your activities like the North Star, rip cord, or ifly when you get onto the ship because the spots fill super quick.
Reverse all shows in advance. Book your activities as soon as you get on board. It is easy RCL on board was very flexible to assist to adjust times as needed. You do need to do this directly with the activities rep. Royal e ID is only good to show you your daily planner and activities. It does not work for reservations. Pre-Cruise: RCL customer service is not knowledgable on ship policies so don't bother trying to get them. If you do you will be on the phone for an hour and still not get correct information. Service on board was much better. If you are in a Jr. Suite you can't book CK until you are on board, but it is not an issue to get reservations.
1) At the very front of the ship in on decks 13 and 14 is the Solarium. It is an adult only glassed in solarium with bar, tiered pools, a huge swing that looks out the front and on the lower level to each side is an outdoor viewing deck above the bridge and these viewing decks offer some of the best views on the ship. Also I would advise to book early (as soon as the booking opens) the North Star and the iFly as these do fill up fast and can be full fast.
