The ship and crew are wonderful. The ship has everything you could possibly want to do...bumper cars, sports, virtual skydiving, surfing, multiple pools, fun events, great talent,, good food. But, it all comes back to the staff. They make the cruise special. I couldn't be more pleased with my Royal Caribbean experience.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Too long standing on hard concrete. It took almost and hour and half to get through the boarding process. Why have us select an embarkation time only to have us stand in long lines. Several elderly people were especially affected. Why not develop a numbering system so that folks can sit until their number is called. Works for Southwest Airlines.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Every meal was great. The Windjammer was especially good. Carving station with prime rib or rack of lamb and a pasta station. The food tasted fresh and it was very appealing.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Attended several activities. Nice variety. The only bad one was the card making. The supplies were horrible. Dried out glue sticks, broken paper cutters and scissors and construction paper. For women that scrapbook and craft, it was a joke. Most of us left.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Resurrection was the best! The singer sounded and acted just like Steve Perry. My second favorite were the Las Vegas Tenors.
Children's Programs
I had to rate this, it wouldn't accept my Not Applicable.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I enjoyed participating in the panel of the Captain, Chief Engineer, Chief Environmental Office, and Cruise Director. No matter what question we asked they had good answers. The Captain was funny and serious when he needed to be. I was so impressed with him! You can tell he has set the tone of the crew and ship.
Randy our room steward was especially nice and efficient. He was friendly and made towel animals for us daily. He worked around our schedule and was always smiling and engaging. Wish I could have brought him home!
Nuur was stationed at the entrance to the buffet and was shining star every morning and night. On the last day, folks lined up to have their picture taken with him. We tipped him because he was so cheerful and would dance, spin and be so welcoming during his shift.
I also had occasion to use the Medical department. Top notch! Dr. Clarey was so caring and professional. Even checking in on his day off to make sure I was feeling better. I wish he was my personal doctor.
Ship Quality

Amazing ship. This ship as spoiled me for all others. Everything was clean. Lots of areas to hide away and read. It's a beautiful ship and the finishes and appointments.
Cabin / Stateroom

Comfortable and lots of good storage areas. The shelves above the bed were great!!!
Ship tip
Get to events early. It's a big ship and popular events fill up quickly. Several events were standing room only (Resurrection and Las Vegas Tenors).
LOVED THIS PORT OF CALL! I did the walking tour of the Victorian houses. The guide was very knowledgeable and I felt transported back to the time of big lavish homes and parties. The town was adorable!
Portland was nice and it was an easy walk to shops and restaurants. I did a Portland Highlights tour which took us out to the lighthouse. Our guide was corny but fun.
The town was within walking distance. We did the Hop On Hop Off bus that took us around the city and out to the reverse rapids. The bus was an old double-decker and the fumes were bad. We just good off and got back on another bus and the problem was solved. They need to retire that bus before someone suffers carbon monoxide poisoning. The tented area near the port had cute things and we bought more there than in town.
