Book shows on line as well as onboard activities such as IFly and Northstar. Check to see how maNY ships debark on the same day at Cape Liberty! It took over 2 hours to get off because 3 other ships came in same time. We would have chose self check which you have to fill our forms days before.
kruzer1
Reserve as much ahead of time as you can.

Book your shows before you even get on board. Royal Caribbean makes it so easy. North Star is a must do activity.
frankcats
make sure you book any of the onboard activities far in advance, once you get on the ship it's too late

Book shows and dinner reservations in advance of travel, but know that once on board, things can be switched around.
ChingChow
Book dinners and shows in advance via the online reservations. Check multiple times! The Escape from the Future game put us in a locked room with about 10 other passengers (young and old). We had an hour to get out, and with teamwork, we did it. But it vanished from the reservations quickly!

Book all of your entertainment and dining as early as possible or you will be disappointed with your options.
maripitt
Double check all your reservations. What you reserved might not be there. Have an earlier dinner so you don't miss all the evening activities.
sthailer
Reserve things on line well in advance and then cancel if you don't want them.

The Smart Phone app is excellent and does not need wireless. Use it to book entertainment ASAP. I had paid wireless on my iPad and it was spotty. Not great, but hard to do without.
Fleeflee
Make all of your dining/excursion/entertainment appointments before you get on the ship. You will save yourself the headache of standing in lines all day the first day. It's fast online but slooooooow on the ship!
irisaccordino
People that were on dynamic dining got stuck waiting in line. We had classic dining and were able to walk in the dining room immediately at our set time.
CruisinVicki
Book your dining reservations far in advance or you will be left like we were, searching around for a place to eat, at a decent hour, every night.

Don't spend a lot of money for shore excursions for Portland Or St. John

GET TO SHIP BEFORE 9:00AM, THE BAYONNE BRIDGE CLOSES AT THIS TIME FROM EXIT 14A AND THEN THEY SEND YOU BACK TO EXIT 13 ON TURNPIKE AND YOU MUST GO IN THE BACK WAY AFTER CROSSING OVER ANOTHER BRIDGE.

I strongly recommended this cruise ship, The cruise managers need to work to avoid noise in cabin and long line in guest services. Other than that we have wonderful time
winbuddy
Remember you can bring up to two 750ml wine bottles onboard with with you. Book dining early.

Preregister, Pick shows ahead of time and Shore trips. Book any thing you want to do the first day, because there are only so many slots available. If you do want to do the lifting glass ball thing do it going into a port. So much more to see then just Ocean:)

Book dining prior to sailing for most options.
