Review summary

ThE ship is big and beautiful! It didn't feel crowded to me or the 13 others I was with during our 9 day adventure to New England and Canada. The fool was delicious and plentiful in the Windjammer where we ate ALL our meals! The lunch and dinner choices changed almost daily so if you see something you think you  might like to try like the shrimp and crab salad you'd better get it while you can! Abe Hughes our Cruise Director was OUTSTANDING! The shows were not your run of the mill productions so watch with an open mind! We NEVER had problem getting a beer so the drink package MORE than paid for itself. There is SO much to do on this ship I never felt Bored enough to play bingo! We never had a problem finding 10 seats together by the pool but then again  there were less than 200 passengers under 25. Yes reservations have to be made for most everything, but then with reservations there was no waiting. The one negative was many food stands were not complimentary  and there were limited choices when the Windjammer and 270 closed. Nothing was open after 1:30 am so we just had to plan to get pizza and take it to the Casino bar. The other negative was getting through CUSTOMS entering Canada -  a handfull of foreign passengers held up 4000 of us getting off the ship! We heard the person over the PA system was Not pronouncing their name correctly!! REALLY?? Forms needed filled out the second day so they had TO KNOW! Also getting off the ship was ridiculous after should a wonderful experience! Only 5 lines were open for 4000 passengers to get off the ship. We were told 3 other ships were coming in at the same time so the CuStOMS employees had to be spread out! We would have done the self-check and gotten off ASAP had we known!    I planned out all the tour excursions and they were great!,  Boston Hop Cityview and Freedom Walk (groupon). Portland Discovery land and sea tour very nice. Had the BEST Lobster Roll at Bill's Pizza.  Very informative tour with Paul -at your service.com at Bar Harbor. This tour went all the way up to Cadillac Mountain which is a MUST DO!!,  so make sure your tour go
Goes there! Not all do!,  Steve was a BLAST with Dave Tours taking us ALL around St. JOHN on a private tour. And the Tour in Halifax with Best of Halifax and Peggy's Cove was  very good. Totally enjoyed this cruise on Anthem of the Sea!

We booked Port side to see the cities as we docked. However NONE of the stops docked portside! All docked starboard

Ship tip

Book shows on line as well as onboard activities such as IFly and Northstar. Check to see how maNY ships debark on the same day at Cape Liberty! It took over 2 hours to get off because 3 other ships came in same time. We would have chose self check which you have to fill our forms days before.
