Be sure to call Royal Caribbean with any questions you may have beforehand, as we did that to clear up anything needed. Also, download the "Royal IQ" app on your phone, which will make it much easier to plan your daily schedule and quickly search for info on the ship or certain experiences as you may need. Your daily Cruise Compass (delivered to your room each night) is your best friend! Be sure to read it (also available on the app). And if you're an online person, it's best to get the VOOM internet package. Try to minimize the number of devices you'll need to be simultaneously online. Two is probably the best bet, as you can just switch devices as needed (phone to laptop, or vice versa).

Book shows and activities early. I booked all shows prior to boarding and this saved time waiting in lines onboard for reservations. Also, NorthStar and iFly require reservations and can fill up/ sell out be mid week. They are free, but iFly does charge $25 for a no show fee.

When you get on board, avoid the crowds and lines at the Windjammer and Two70 cafe. The Solarium Bistro was less crowed and had ample food. Try not to have a bulky carry-on (or have none at all). You will be waiting a long time for your stateroom to be ready. Lugging along a piece of luggage will get tiresome.

Don’t plan on getting a chair near the pool. On Disembarking day, you have to find out when your group goes on your own because it is not announced and is disorganized.
