Review summary

The overall experience was a very good cruise. Listing individual things make it sound like a lot was bothersome but it really wasn’t. It was a great two weeks.

Very streamlined! Fast and efficient. Able to take care of most everything on line beforehand.

Delicious food. Like the My Time Dining. Great Specialty Restaurants and treated like royalty! Windjammer is convenient and available and good food. Love the dining rooms the best. Very pleased that you MUST wash hands with soap and water before going into Windjammer. Excellent habit.

Onboard Activities

North Star was very neat. Great attraction. Absolutely LOVED Ripcord by iFly. This is so neat. Fun and different. Bumper cars were fun and lots of laughs. Great activities for all ages.

Okay shows. Nothing striking in my opinion. Absolutely loved the water shows on the Allure. Not so thrilled with all these Technical and Far out shows.

Our waiters in My Time Dining were excellent and so accommodating. Our room Stewart was perfect at providing what I needed nd the room service attendants were so friendly and efficient. Room service was so fast and proficient.

Ship Quality

Outdoor pool seemed very crowded and all pool areas had chairs so close together that you couldn’t get in or out of the chair without encroaching on your neighbors. No way could you set your bag down or a drink. Didn’t like the location of Johnny Rockets Restaurant. Didn’t feel clean with it exposed to the elements and the first night of our cruise it was so cool in there that we couldn’t eat there because there are no walls to close it off. Poor planning. Liked Royal Esplanade.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very typical except for the closet design. Don’t like the upper and lower hanging racks. Like a long full length closet with sliding door. The doors kept opening and closing when the ship rocked which was a lot on this cruise coming home. Size is standard. Balcony fine. Bed was comfortable. We ate breakfast in our room each day and the pull out table was not convenient at all. We had to move all our items each morning. Like a coffee table type arrangement better.

Ship tip

Don’t plan on getting a chair near the pool. On Disembarking day, you have to find out when your group goes on your own because it is not announced and is disorganized.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Very sad to see so much damage still exits. Very much has been accomplished but so much still to do. Many prayers for these people. Our excursion was the open double decker bus and it was disorganized and late. The traffic jam caused many people to get off the bus and walk back to the ship. It was hot and uncomfortable for those on top. No back up plan for this kind of event.

St. John's, Antigua

Things were more rushed than described. The descriptions were more detailed than the actual attractions we visited. Not really as described.

Castries, St. Lucia

Beautiful ride to the Pitons in boat. Didn’t seem to go on a schedule as described. Things seemed rushed. One of the female attendants seemed to enjoy displaying her dancing abilities rather than be an attendant. Also was a bit risqué for a family group. Maybe more attention to detail is needed.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Things were not communicated. Very confusing when our group left the ship. Not enough porters to help with luggage out to buses to airport. A lot of eating and no communication. Not as good as most other cruises we have done.
