Great cruise by JillB43495508

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The service was superb, from our room attendant to our waiter, we always got what we asked for and more. The ship was clean and very easy to navigate. There were always activities on board, as well as a large variety of tours in port.

An average cruise by AT392

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Although there were some positive aspects of the cruise, like the ports of call, the service and the entertainment, the cleanliness of the ship and the very average food is not up to Royal Caribbean standards.

Treated like royalty! by Suk1

The ship was spotless!! Food was excellent with many choices. There were many options for entertainment in the evenings, from latin dancing, to club music to adult karaoke!! We had top quality entertainment, the original "Drifters" Fun game shows and comediens. The ports of call were beautiful and the excursions were well organized and run by quality personnel. Swimming with dolphins was our family's favorite. My sons, ages 19 & 21 were so busy, we only saw them at dinner. Excursions that offered sailing, snorkeling and beaches were enjoyed by them. Riding around St Maarten in an individual watercraft was amazing! Everything associated with this cruise was top quality.

Beautiful Ship! by LauraL5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was very clean and well maintained. There were people sanitizing all of the public areas and they insisted that all guests used hand sanitizer when entering the dining areas or re-boarding the ship. We LOVED Aruba and St. Thomas. We loved snorkeling in both locations. I was very put off by the fact that they said that their pool and hot tubs were open 24 hours. They were not. Their were 6 hot tubs and they were all closed from 10 pm - 1 am. This left no time for going in the hot tub after dinner. This was disappointing to me because my husband and I do not enjoy the "shows" so we didn't have much to do in the evenings. We did enjoy the Duck and Dog pub.

Hooray for the Southern Caribbean! by ConnieS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Just returned (3-11-07) from a cruise on Royal Carribean's "Adventure of the Seas" and believe me, we enjoyed every minute of the cruise. The ship is gorgeous, roomy and easy to get around. The staff is most helpful and always available for assistance. Food in both the Windjammer Cafe (buffet) and our evening dinning (Vivaldi Dinning Room) was excellent. And the service...outstanding. Two nights we were entertained by the entire waitstaff after dinner and one night the youngsters came in to entertain as "pirates" for the after dinner entertainment. Royal Carribean is doing its best to protect all from illness as they are enforcing a strict hands cleansing as you enter each eating facility with anti-bacterial hand wash. Your are also required to do the same when you return to the ship from outside trips. As for the entertainment... I can't say enough. The shows, the cruise director, the Ice Show, etc. were all top quality and very entertaining. If you don't go to the shows, you've missed one of the best things.

fabulous cruise by SallyD3

I went on this cruise with my husband and 2 children(ages 10 and 18). The ship was beautiful, clean and the service was outstanding. The food was excellent, our waiters were so attentive and fun. There were numerous lounges offered for adults yet there was plenty for the kids. A rock climbing wall. great arcade, roller blading area. ice rink and numerous swimming pools. The evening shows that were offered were so enjoyable for the whole family. Our shows ranged from a motown singing group to a live ice skating show. Good entertainment for all. We had a stateroom with a deck, and our stateroom attendant was great. I will definitely cruise again and would recommend Royale Caribbean to anyone. Thanks for the wonderful vacation!

WHAT A NIGHTMARE by AndrewA3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I HAVE SAILED WITH ROYAL CARRIBEAN 6 TIMES PRIOR TO THIS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED TILL NOW. THE OVER ALL APPEARENCE AND CONDITION OF THE SHIP WAS NOT KEPT TO THE STANDARDS OF ALL OTHER SHIPS I HAVE BEEN ON WITH R/C. THE STATE ROOMS THE BEDS AND CARPET WERE VERY WORN, THE BEDDING BEING THE WORST.

A great cruise by VincentM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time on the Adventure of the Seas. We arrived in San Juan around 3pm (supposed to be noon but our flight was delayed) and took the shuttle to the ship and we were on the ship in 30 minutes. The ports were all great and highly recommended. The food on the ship was great, even in the Windjammer cafe (buffet). The cruise director was always funny and made the experience more enjoyable. On our way back to the states, Continental was offering free vouchers and hotel stay for anyone who would give up their tickets, so we got an extra night in San Juan at the Embassy Suites for free!

A Great Week on the AOS by DaveW10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I had always wanted to cruise on Royal Caribbean and the Adventure of the Seas was an excellent choice. Because my wife and I really enjoy days at sea, we chose this cruise because it had two of them. We also had not visited three of the four ports of call before. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from the moment we arrived at the dock in San Juan around 11:15 a.m. We breezed through the embarkation process and were on board within just a few minutes. We got our Soda and Juice sticker for the week and made reservations at Portofino's, the specialty restaurant on board. Then we went to the Windjammer for lunch. This ship is huge! I was awestruck at the size and facilities. It is a perfect ship for families, I believe, because of the many varied activities on board. Because we were cruising primarily to relax, we didn't do any of the more exciting activities. We did go to the show each night, and the ice show was phenomenal! I also enjoyed the technical aspects of the second Broadway-style show, but found that the music tended to blast, which detracted from my enjoyment. There was a phenomenal guitarist on the Promenade and in the dining room. We enjoyed our waiter and his assistant, as well as our table mates. The food was basically good, but not as superb as the food on our previous cruises on Celebrity ships. The portions were nicely sized and the menu had a good variety of choices. Our favorite meal was at Portofinos, the specialty restaurant. We went there on Wednesday evening, when the regular dining room was featuring Caribbean food - not our favorite. The Portofino's experience was outstanding. We had the perfect table at a floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the sea. Our waiter and his assistant were superb. Of all the courses, there was only one that I didn't like, and that was because my seafood pasta had that "fishy" taste that suggests the seafood was not that fresh. But the rest of the meal was divine, and worth every penny of the extra charge. We also enjoyed the spa. Each of us had two massages, although we had planned only to have one. The people giving the massage were superb! I even broke down and bought a couple muscle relaxant products, even though I was determined not to. And I must say, both my wife and I use them almost every night before going to bed, and we have found that we are sleeping better and handling tension at work better than those days we don't use the products. Probably our favorite aspect of the ship was our cabin. We decided to get a Junior Suite this cruise, primarily because I wanted a bit bigger balcony. I was amazed at the spaciousness of this cabin. It included a wonderful walk-in closet and the cabin had lots of room to sit and get ready in the morning. The balcony was wonderfully sized, as well. And there was lots and lots of storage. It also was a special delight to come back from dinner each evening and see what kind of towel animal our cabin steward had left for us. All in all, this was an excellent ship. We were able to relax and we had a wonderful week. I would especially recommend this ship to families.
