Disappointing Cruise by SB115930790

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is a beautyful looking ship. Instead of an atrium it has a huge "Main Street" with plenty of stores. For over 3,000 passengers there are not enough elevators. The goal of the cruise line seems to be to find many ways to get you to spend extra money. The ship's newspaper is not delivered to your room. You had to hunt for it upstairs in "business services". Sometimes they were out of the english language edition.

Great trip by DerelR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Great ship. Very crowded and small public areas. Schooner bar too small and smoky at trivia. Many poeple had no place to sit. No decent size dance floors. Pool deck always crowded. People saving chairs all day. Solarium uncrowded and quiet. Johnny Rockets worth the cover charge. I like the cruise out of Galveston better. ports are just as nice or better with much better snorkling and we can drive to the port instead of flying.

Fabulous Spring Break Cruise by JaneP6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We arrived in San Juan the nite before the cruise. d the Radisson for $140/nite (a $60 per room savings). My husband and I took our 18 and 15 year old and they both took a friend. We went to the pier at 10:50 a.m. and were about the 20th persons in line. RCL started letting us onboard around 11:30 a.m. They provided beverages in the embarkation area, so you didn't need to buy water from the vendors outside. If you pre-register on line before your cruise, they have special lines that got us through in about 5 minutes! We were on the ship at 11:45 a.m.! Beautiful, extremely well kept ship. You would not know it was built in 2001. Ship: Elegant woodwork in dining areas. Very beautiful design and easy to get around. The workout areas were never crowded when we went in the a.m. Dinner: Food was good, but not great. For dinner, we did the assigned seating with our family. We loved the Lamb Shank, Caesar Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, Angus Sirloin Steak, and asked for more Lamb Shank on another nite and the chef gladly prepared it for us!! Cyrus our wait staff, did an Excellent job of servicing our table. Food in cafe promenade was not a huge variety, but what was there was good. We also ate in the dining room for breakfast and really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict!! Cleanliness: We had a great room attendant, Moses. He probably cleaned and tidied up our room 2 - 3 times a day. My husband always pre-tips them before the cruise starts so they do pay alittle more attention to you. Also, we were impressed that, they handed out santizied sheets to wipe your hands off before getting on the ship. They also had these sheets in the workout rooms and most passengers wiped down the equipment before and after they worked out! Service: All the staff were very friendly and provided very good service. Entertainment: We only saw two shows; the ice show was very good and the 70's show. Both were pretty good, not great. Cabins: We went with three inside cabins on 8th deck that overlooked mall below. The rooms were large, good size bathroom. There was a large window overlooking the mall below, but you could not hear anything happening in the mall unless it was singing, which was over by 9 p.m. We've always had exterior rooms, but since traveling with additional non-family members, this was a great suggestion by our contact JB Basera to keep the cost down. Disembarkation: We ate breakfast in the dining room on the last morning. By the time we finished, it was time to get off the ship and there were no long lines. Easy to get through.

A nice cruise by LisaV

The ship had too many people on it. You did not get the extra special attention that you get on a smaller ship. The food and wait staff in the dining room was excellent.

Southern Caribbean Cruise by ConnieV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We said on Adventure of the Seas (last year on her sister ship - Mariner of the Seas) so we were familiar with the ship. The Southern Caribbean is our favorite itinerary. Start off in San Juan and it only gets better. Stops were ARuba, Curacao, St. Maartens and St. Thomas. What not to like!

Spectacular Cruise by MoniqueL

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Adventure of the Seas is a spectacular ship. Its size alone allows for an abundance of opportunity to explore the variety of shops, clubs and activities offered during your stay. It was itself an all inclusive resort.

rccl mixed blessings by BrendaP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

No one at embarkation to direct you to your cabin, no amenities like lotion or shampoo, no chocolates on the pillow at night. the ship was spartan. there were no early evening entertainment venues like piano music while waiting for the late seating for dinner. I was very disappointed in royal carribean this was my 22 cruise and I would rank celebrity or princess or norwegian much better than rccl. The ship was beautiful and the crew were very kind but they couldn't make up for the lack of "special" touches for the customers who were there only for the per cap sales. There were too many extras, even an ice cream cone cost extra!

Adventure of the seas was fun by Doug2

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Adventure of the seas was an excellent ship. Cruised Princess and Holland America before. Overall, I like Princess the best as their food is much better and they have more live entertainment. Royal Carribean staff was friendly, fun and gave excellent service. This was a fantastic ship and this cruise would be excellent if you had children from age six and up. Your kids would love this ship as there are many things for them to do. THe only down side is the food is just OK.

Great cruise by JudyM12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Excellent food--balcony rooms sort of small; love the huge 5 story mall in middle of ship--also went ice skating twice and their ice show is fabulous; rock climbing for those who can do it--all sorts of sports you an play: tennis, basketball, etc. They ran all sorts of cute things around the pool: men's belly flop champions-other games there. So much to do you can't do it all. Dining room is beautiful--3 on top of each other--staff stings on the red carpeted stairway twice during the cruise (the dining room staff) which is fun to hear and see. Also liked Aruba which is beautiful and twice now we have gone on the catamaran to Palm Beach--it's a great trip off the ship. Curacao was intersting and of course St. Thomas has a lot going on. WE did the beach and Coral tour--which was excellent too.

We were on "The Adventures of the Sea"and had an increadible time. The staff was great and the food was wounderful. We ate at Portifino and had an amazing meal. Our cabin was very nice and our attendent went above and beyond his normal duties. We would with out a doubt travel with Royal Carribean again.

a bad experience by ArieD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We recently sailed on Aventure of the Seas for the second time and had a very big disappointment. First the room that we got was way smaller then what was promissed. The sofa in the room -two people suppose to sleep on it, it couldn't fit one person-my son. Second, the crew was very nice but hardly spoke English, and did not understand our need. When I spoke to a superior she was full of lies. Third- Where ever you go on the ship there is always someone who try to sale you something.

Wonderful Cruise by ShirleyA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We sailed on Adventure of the Sea,6 from the same family sailed together 2 per stateroom. We had 2 staterooms and a Jr. suite for gathering, the suite and staterooms were well appointed, I was disappointed that shampoo, conditioner, and lotion had been removed from the bathroom and is no longer furnished by RCCL, that is a small thing compared to the wonderful staff. This was my 4th. cruise with RCCl and my 7th. cruise, it was the 1st. cruise for 4 in our party and all 6 are ready to cruise again. I recommend RCCL to anyone who wants 1st. class at an affordable rate.

Enjoyed the Cruise by CharlotteL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had heard from reviews that the Puerto Ricans were rude and dominated the ship. We found this to be untrue. In the most part everyone was polite and just out to have a good time. This was our 8th cruise. There seemed to always be something to do on this ship. The cruise director was great along with the staff on this ship.

Adventurer of the Sea a great ship by AM534643185

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The dinning room staff and chefs preparation are top notch. I bought the cookbook and the executive chef signed it for me. There is always something fun to do or quiet places on the ship for reading if you wish. The cabin attendant saw to our every need. There was a mixed group of people on the ship which made it enjoyable too. The staff makes it there primary purpose to fill any request you may have. I would recommend Adventurer of the Sea to see the island ports we visited. Entertainment nightly was great. The cruise director and staff were talented and fun to travel with.

A Great Christmas Cruise! by AnnP3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was clean, brilliant and beautiful! All areas of the ship I found to be well maintained. They were always cleaning!! There was plenty of room on board for everyone (except by the pool on sea days). There were several arguments with staff about saving chairs. There was no way you could eat lunch together as a family as staff started pulling towels and belongings off chairs after only 20 minutes. Guests fighting with other guests for lounge chairs. They need to to come up wtih a better policy..... It got nasty!!!!

After 36 cruises this one was SO SO by Sg111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Ship is well maintained and clean. Waiters,bus-boys and MatreD are very courteous and strived for excellence. Unfortunately the food was average to poor in presentation, quality and taste. Deserts were poor. B'fasts were good with average food available. Shows quality was good to poor (not Vegas Style). Latin Music band was very very good and was the heart of the entertainment. Other lounge's bands were mediocre and could be seen by the poor attendance of customers. Pool area was excellent as well as well as the mini golf, climbing wall, and in-line skating area. Carpets in all lounges were clean and good condtion with little wear and tear. Gym was well equiped and well maintained. Enough machines to find open spaces everytime gym was attended (maybe most of the customers were not into exersicing).

Loved it !! by JohnR48

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship & the crew were great. We had plenty to do at all times. We even got to watch the Patriots game and made a few friends doing it. I had only one problem with the ship. At the windjammer they had to many people cutting the line there was no order in there at anytime. I saw kids handling food with their hands witch is why some people go sick i'm sure. Also going up and down the stairs there were rude kids sitting on the stairs and would not move most of the time. othe than that if they could take care of thoses two things it would have been perfect.
