Review summary

We arrived in San Juan the nite before the cruise. d the Radisson for $140/nite (a $60 per room savings). My husband and I took our 18 and 15 year old and they both took a friend. We went to the pier at 10:50 a.m. and were about the 20th persons in line. RCL started letting us onboard around 11:30 a.m. They provided beverages in the embarkation area, so you didn't need to buy water from the vendors outside. If you pre-register on line before your cruise, they have special lines that got us through in about 5 minutes! We were on the ship at 11:45 a.m.! Beautiful, extremely well kept ship. You would not know it was built in 2001. Ship: Elegant woodwork in dining areas. Very beautiful design and easy to get around. The workout areas were never crowded when we went in the a.m. Dinner: Food was good, but not great. For dinner, we did the assigned seating with our family. We loved the Lamb Shank, Caesar Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, Angus Sirloin Steak, and asked for more Lamb Shank on another nite and the chef gladly prepared it for us!! Cyrus our wait staff, did an Excellent job of servicing our table. Food in cafe promenade was not a huge variety, but what was there was good. We also ate in the dining room for breakfast and really enjoyed the blueberry pancakes and eggs benedict!! Cleanliness: We had a great room attendant, Moses. He probably cleaned and tidied up our room 2 - 3 times a day. My husband always pre-tips them before the cruise starts so they do pay alittle more attention to you. Also, we were impressed that, they handed out santizied sheets to wipe your hands off before getting on the ship. They also had these sheets in the workout rooms and most passengers wiped down the equipment before and after they worked out! Service: All the staff were very friendly and provided very good service. Entertainment: We only saw two shows; the ice show was very good and the 70's show. Both were pretty good, not great. Cabins: We went with three inside cabins on 8th deck that overlooked mall below. The rooms were large, good size bathroom. There was a large window overlooking the mall below, but you could not hear anything happening in the mall unless it was singing, which was over by 9 p.m. We've always had exterior rooms, but since traveling with additional non-family members, this was a great suggestion by our contact JB Basera to keep the cost down. Disembarkation: We ate breakfast in the dining room on the last morning. By the time we finished, it was time to get off the ship and there were no long lines. Easy to get through.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

You can actually walk along the pier in to downtown St. Thomas. About a 15 - 20 minute beautiful walk along the yachts and sailboats. You can also take a taxi for $4 per person. Great Shopping in St. Thomas. Our son and friend went to Megan's beach and had a fun time there, but said the surf wasn't as fun as St. Maarten.

Willemstad, Curacao

We only went shopping here, which really wasn't that good compared to St. Maaten and St. Thomas. But it was a pretty city, with beautifully colored buildings. Felt like you were in Copenhagen.

We had friends staying at the hyatt, so we went to their beach. It was beautiful, white fluffly, sand. Kids enjoyed the banana boat that was $20 per person for 25 minutes. They said it was the best 25 minutes of their life!

We took a taxi to Orient Beach. There are plenty of tiki beach bars, lounge chairs to rent (for $10 each!). Surf was high, kids enjoyed boogie boarding here. We walked up to the nude beach to see what one looked like...nothing but old people...very strange, but worth taking the walk to see this oddity. Great Shopping on the Dutch side, which is where the ferry from ship dock takes you. Lots of stores, very clean and safe feeling.

Pros: Great Ship, Staff, Embarkation, Disembarkation

Cons: Waiting in lines at the bar
