Best cruise line by ppazdro19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our third cruise on RC, Won't be our last. We've already booked an Alaska cruise onboard. We were celebrating our anniversary and our stateroom was decorated with streamers, sign on our door and a lovely card.  Ship was easy to get around, staff excellent, food and entertainment superb!

Adventure of the seas by WeaverW

Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The adventure of the seas was a nice ship but I prefer the freedom series ships. The smaller size was evident in the number of shops, special dining and the smaller balcony... The crew for most part provided royal service.

worse cruise ever by tamtam50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

had issues with our room toilet most of times, we had no hot water running in shower and sink,  issues with air condition system in our room. The food was horrible in the fine dining room, room service, sometimes in the buffet area.. the cafe food was so so. but i was treated unfairly from a staff member. i was yelled at in front of the customers, he was rude towards me.

A much needed vacation by Islandcruiser87

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was an overall enjoyable vacation. I traveled with my boyfriend mother and brother. Myself and boyfriend in one cabin and my mother and brother in another Cabin. We had outside rooms on deck 2. Very convinent when getting off at port as we only had to go down 1 deck. We loved that our rooms were very close to elevators (rooms 2616 and 2618) We picked this cruise mainly for the ports and that we love going out of Puerto Rico. As with any cruise we found both pros and cons while traveling on Adventure of the seas. Ive cruised 14 times on various cruise lines/ships including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Costa and Norwegian. This was my 2nd time on Adventure of the seas. I've thoroughly have enjoyed this ship but realized some cut backs such as entertainment and dinning from Royal Caribbean and hope its not fleet wide as we love this cruiseline.

Adventure of the Seas not such a great Adventure by CoralS2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This ship is an embarrassment to the RCCL fleet.  I am a Diamond member and this is by far the worst food and boring cruise we have ever been on.  The ports were GREAT thanks goodness we were off the ship 6 out of the 7 days cause if we had more sea days I probably would have wanted to jump overboard. The crew themselves told us everyone complains about the ship and you can tell that none of these crew members enjoy their job.

November Cruise by magnolia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was a cruise over the Thanksgiving week. The overall experience was good, but not to the same level of service and attention to detail as prior experience with Royal Caribbean (Radiance of the Seas).  The booking and onboarding experiences were excellent.  Service in the main dining room was slow and unorganized, leaving us as only two seated at a table for six on the first formal night.  The Ice Show was spectacular and the two comedy acts were entertaining. The evening show with the ship singers and dancers seemed random with movement through a variety of show tunes with no apparent connection or theme.  Our stateroom was carefully attended at all times and room service dining was prompt and delicious.  Overall a good experience.

Adventure Cruise by pjoc22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall the cruise was a pleasure.  We sailed to a couple of islands that we had not visited previously (St. Croix and Antigua) and that was a plus. Service was very good and consistent with what we have come to expect.  There were some opportunities for improvement.  They include the overall condition of the ship which has begun to show its age with noticeable wear and tear in both public areas and the staterooms. (We understand that the ship is scheduled to be refurbished in 2016.)  Johnny Rockets was a bit disappointing; one of our sandwiches was messed up (and not rectified) and we felt that more of the menu items should have been included under the cost of the cover charge.  We chose My Time dining, which we enjoy because of the flexibility it provides. The dining room menu was somewhat limited compared to our previous cruises.  The quality of the meals was also consistent with previous cruises, which we would rate as good.  We had a very good experience at Giovanni's Table.  The meal was first rate and service very good.  We have had good experiences at the Chops Grill on other Royal Caribbean ships in the past and adding that specialty restaurant to the Adventure of the Seas in 2016 should be a plus.

November 14th Southern Caribbean cruise by sjarrett75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was a very busy cruise! We visited five ports with only one day at sea. The staff on the ship were great!  Always smiling, friendly and went out of their way to do whatever you needed! The food was good as usual. We were a two party group and when we booked we asked that we be seated at same table but we were not at the same table and not even in the same dining room, but the head waiter (Richie)finally put us in the My Time dining room. He made sure we got the same table every night and came by several times to make sure everything was fine. Another example of the great staff!

There were two issues that were annoying. The beds are really needing replaced. You can feel bars in your back, but I think this ship is going to be renovated next year. And the other problem are some of the other passengers and their rudeness. Pushing their way onto elevators, once almost knocking down a frail elderly veteran. We had to call out that individual! But there is no cure for other's rude behavior and this is not new to this cruise. We have experienced this on every cruise we have taken.

Worst cruise Do not take Royal Caribbean. by swickwar2008

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This is the worst cruise and should have been billed as a west Indies cruise . For Christians going to the west Indies is not good . It is full of darkness and VooDoo.

The people are very very poor with no middle-class on these islands . The cruise ship Adventure of the Seas should have been put in dry dock several years ago . The food was awful in all of the restaurants . Our only saving grace was our state room attendant Elmer .  The cruise staff most were indifferent to solving any problems . Upon arrival our state room cleanliness was a lot to be desired . We had three hours of ship personnel getting our state room ready for us to occupy.

Fun, Exciting, A Little Hectic Due to the Long Port Days and One Sea Day, Some Disappointing aspects by CDCarrEsq

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was beautiful.  The stops, for the most part, were exciting and included some of lesser-visited places like St. Croix and Grenada.  But the itinerary gave you a lot of island time and little time to enjoy the ship.

The islands are so close together which offers advantages and disadvantages.  After leaving at 8:30 p.m. you are already at the first port of call by 8 a.m. the next morning.  And you stay until after 5 p.m.  That basically continues each day for the first 5 days of the cruise.  Only on the 6th day do you get a full sea day.  It's hard to pack in everything the ship has to offer in that time.

The ship is big with lots of open space, particularly in the 2-3 level central shopping promenade.  The cruise line obviously wants to showcase this shopping and bar area by holding many activities right on the "street" that runs through it.  A great deal was also done on the pool deck.  The "nightlife" was concentrated along that street, by the pool and/or the Viking Crown lounge. The nightclub was horrendous, bad music, very few people.  It appears the put all their nightlife energy into those other places that are more high profile.

The food was good.  Restaurant offered very good, exciting and varied dishes.  But the list of "classics" (in case you didn't want one of the featured items for the night) was always the same and included, among other things, a steak and "sliders."  The wait staff was excellent every night.  However, on the last day of the cruise we walked out of the main dining room for the breakfast service after 75 minutes of waiting without getting food.  The breakfast took far longer than any of our dinners.  Never walked out of a restaurant on a cruise before, but the delay was putting us way behind on the last (and ONLY) sea day.

Room steward was also good, but not great.  He did everything you expect: cleaned the room, replaced the towels, make a few towel animals, etc, but the little things just weren't there.  For example, I drank both Diet Coke's in the mini bar on the first day and they were never replaced.

The room itself was comfortable with one HUGE exception.  The bunk/trundle beds that hang from the sealing have a plastic sheet on them since the beds are typically for kids.  There is a regular cloth sheet on top, but everytime anyone moved on that plastic it sounded like a bag of chips crinkling.  When my kid moved at 3 a.m. it would wake everyone up.  Made it difficult to sleep a few times.  When I asked for no plastic, the room steward said all the bunk beds were like that.  Then later that night we noticed the mattress was replaced with an non-plastic-bagged one.

The entertainment lacked a bit too.  There were one or two nights with NO show.  And the ice skating on the last day was just a repeat of the ice skating show two days before (which we didn't find out until we were trapped at the end of a long row!).

Southern Caribbean 2015 cruise by rcoleman100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Enjoyable cruise. Relaxing. Room clean & comfortable, although shows signs of aging. Food was not up to the variety or quality of past cruises! Selection of excursions is OK, but could add some variety. After a while the excursions all seem to be the same.

First cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship and it was great by prmillrd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a Junior suite so boarded thru the suite lines very quickly. The extra space in a junior suite was greatly appreciated. We had My Time Dining which worked well for us. All the meals in the dining room were good to excellent. The entertainment especially the ice show was excellent. We took shore excursions at each port. One was through Cheap Cruises and the others through the ship. All we quite good. The only negative was leaving the ship at the end of the cruise. Itnwas a long process with very long lines. I don't know how they could have made it quicker..

First Cruise with Royal Caribbean by ljsuarez26

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our first cruise with Royal was a blast and met new friends and were treated warmly. The staff took every opportunity to make you feel welcomed and at home. We were impressed and loved our dinning room staff, specially the following, Seddely, server and his assistant, Krishna while seated at table 374 in the Vivaldi Dinning Room. Our cocktail server, Nelma, was the absolute best. We were greeted by name and she always served us with a warm smile and was very attentive. We are cruising again with Royal the end of January and hope to have as enjoyable a time.

High Hopes . . . Big Let Down!!! by DominicL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The cruise was poor at best.  The embarkation and disembark process was terrible.  The ship was outdated.  The dinners were good quality food; all other food was terrible.  We had to ask to have dinners as close to the doors (mid ship) as possible because the constant vibration from the engine was making my wife sick.  The nonstop sales pitch when aboard the ship got tiring after a day or two; think infomercial (act now!!, come to the promenade for a free chain when you buy a pendant, spa service $20 off . . wait $30 off . . . wait $50 off).  UGH!!  I'd prefer it if they set a competitive price and let me choose what I want.  My thoughts don't go on the Adventure of the Seas until it gets a refresh.  If Royal Caribbean has a better quality ship with better food choices and stopped the sales pitch they would probably be a good company to sail with.  Their customer service on board was actually very good.  It was the only thing preventing me from giving it an outright terrible rating.

Cruise review by rmneel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Our suite was terrific, roomy and well appointed. However, there were some technology and lighting problems that were never resolved- technicians labored for hours and couldn't fix the dvd player. There was only one 110 outlet (all others were European outlets), and the light switches were impossible to figure out.  Food service was fine, but food was average at best. Entertainment was sparse for all but the Latino travelers (who were having a great time). Too many casual food services were for-pay only. I would place this experience below what we've had with Celebrity in the past.

I had an excellent experience! by ciozayas235

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a very great time at our cruise last week, in the Caribbean.  The persons that some how rendered their services, made a great job.  Sean, which gave us room service at room 8339, was very diligent in his work.  We greatly appreciate his work.  The food was also great; we loved it! We had "my timing" time, and all of the waiters were very polite and attentive with my husband and me.  The cleaning, overall, was excellent.

Caribbean cruise by tonycecere

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was very nice and modern.  It never seemed crowded for a big ship. There was plenty of space from tho pool area, sun deck to the dining room. There was always plenty of chairs available. The service and food was great. The average age of the passengers was around 40-50's. Not many kids (it was November). All the ports were we quite interesting with beautiful beaches.

Kind of a Let down by charliehoff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have always cruised with RCCL and have been very happy with them up until now.  The ship needs an overhaul,  The food was ok at best.  Some of the staff was not the friendly helpful staff that we have seen on past trips.  Our next cruise I will take a closer look at other cruise lines.

good trip not great by blax1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

with Royal Caribbean the check in process is long even with pre-checking in. Seemed to always be waiting on lines.

The food was not up to standard. In the buffet lines they constantly were running out of food and not replacing it in a timely manner. Had to always ask the staff and officers to replace. This was a common complaint among all the passengers and it occurred every day at breakfast and lunch no matter the time you went.

The staff in the dining room and your cabin staff were fantastic.

Entertainment very good and facilities offered a lot of activity.
