Friends told us once we tried Royal Caribbean we would never go back to Carnival. Wrong! by claybowler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas

Going back to Carnival. This cruise did not have the energy we have experienced with Carnival. As well, very tough to find free drinks as the buffet area shuts down far too early.

A great Caribbean Cruise by Balaciyer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Excellent trip, checking in and out was very organized and people were all great. The only issue was the food availability. The limited hours of food service in the Windjammers were very inadequate, serving some limited food at the cafe Promenade after 9 PM, was not at all good. We have traveled in other cruise lines, and food has been almost round the clock, and very organized. Royal Caribbean has to substantially improve the food service.

Adventure of the Seas is a great ship with a great crew. Captain Barry led an entertaining cruise from the bridge. Tornado Tanya kept us entertained! I would recommend this ship.

Very nice cruise on the Adventure of the Seas by jallaway

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas

I've seen too many negative reviews for this ship and I still just don't understand. It's a good choice and, while large, is not an exhausting mega ship.

Rough and windy first night and day, but great the rest of the cruise by polkacruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Perhaps it is because my wife and I have been on many cruises, that we expect less issues with our cabin such as flooded balcony and flooded men's restroom, cold food served in the main dining area. A "No smoking in the Casino" would be a BIG improvement. I know smokers have to smoke, but why sit right next to me, light up, then hold the cig almost under MY nose? Cig smoke is nasty.

Excellent Caribbean Experience by kellysuerule

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Given this was my first cruise I did not know what to expect. Everyone was very helpful. From the very start the first thing I wanted to see was my cabin, after reading how small they were. To my surprise they were very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Everything else from the food to the shows never disappointed. The crew works very hard and never stops. So impressed that even though I prepaid my gratuities and thought they deserved even more. So I gave, that was A no brainer.

Repositioning through the Caribbean by BobG7408

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

This cruise was 14 nights beginning in Bayonne NJ and ending in Galveston TX. Visiting Haiti, Jamaica, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico. We skipped Grand Cayman in favor of a second day in Haiti due to Hurricane Nicole. Our second sailing this year on Adventure of the Seas and both were excellent. All facets of the ship were excellent and the 14 night sailing allowed us to get to know a lot of crew members quite well. Dining room servers NJ and Kam were absolutely the best servers on any of our 10 cruises. We’d love to take them with us on future Royal cruises. Entertainment staff did a great job of keeping things fresh and different over the 14 days. Tons of trivia, name that tune and many different evening events including production shows, a comic, a magician and a ventriloquist. It was way more that we expected on such a long sailing, but Royal did a great job in this area. Excursion were highlighted by the Panama Canal Engineering tour that allowed us to enter the canal via ferry midway in the canal and sail to the Pacific Ocean through 3 locks. We were accompanied by a massive car carrier in each lock which dwarfed our small ferry. An amazing feat of engineering from 100 years ago that has stood the test of the time. Highly recommended for anyone that ever stops in Colon or Panama City. Other excursions were good except for the Cartagena city tour. That was a disaster with bad tour guides and the general environment in Cartagena with an overwhelming amount of street vendors trying to sell us something. I would not recommend leaving the ship at Cartagena. Embarkation in Bayonne was quick and painless outside of a small delay in boarding due to a US Coast Guard inspection. In Galveston, we were the first inbound ship to dock at the new Royal terminal that opened the day before. Disembarkation was also orderly even though it was the first arrival. Some confusion amongst staff outside the terminal building with taxis, ride-shares and busses, but not a big deal as it was their first time. We were very happy with the entire experience and look forward to our next Royal cruise from Port Canaveral in January.
