Friends told us once we tried Royal Caribbean we would never go back to Carnival. Wrong!

Review summary

Going back to Carnival. This cruise did not have the energy we have experienced with Carnival. As well, very tough to find free drinks as the buffet area shuts down far too early.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was boring nd not up to the quality we have had on past cruises.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The way the ship was laid out with a huge shipping section in the middle, we quickly found ourselves bored on the ship.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
No dedicated comedy club, and the worst cruise director we have had took much of the fun from the shows by trying to hard. Went to a comedy show and got the cruise director and dancers long before the comedian came out. I thought we were at the wrong venue.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Wait staff was slow and caused us to miss our seven o’clock plans. Didn’t learn our names, and even added fake drink charges to our tab.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
It’s an older ship with too much emphasis on the shopping area.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Liked the shore setup, nice couch, but bed was a bit hard.

The Adventure has not had the updates so may not be completely representative of RC.

I have sailed on 5 of the major cruise lines, and each offers an enjoyable experience

Each line offers something unique. We have sailed with Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean has been the better of the two for what WE are wanting on a cruise, but that is our preference. I say cruise with the line that meets your needs and expectations and just enjoy yourselves!!

Thanks for your review, I'll stay with carnival

Just remember, only two entrees in the MDR are free now, Carnival charges for each one over two. So much for my 4 lobster dinners.

I agree Carnival the best fun ever! And the amount of food choices that are free is great! RC pizza and a hot dog for free no thanks RC!
