Review summary

I've seen too many negative reviews for this ship and I still just don't understand. It's a good choice and, while large, is not an exhausting mega ship.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We parked in the adjacent South lot, entered the terminal, and were on board the ship within 15 minutes. You just can't do much better than that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Everything was very good and there were often five star offerings. Giovanni's and Izumi we're both on a five star level on this Cruise. It was interesting to note they pushed those specialty restaurants all throughout the cruise. I received a 40% off deal for Giovanni's midway through the cruise.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Really can't rate this section because we just didn't do anything other than chillax and hang out

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The musical performers all did a very good job. The ice show was great as usual. The offerings were a bit erratic and the performances in the main promenade we're just too short and often interrupted by announcements from the cruise director

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The room Steward was competent and the dining room staff was outstanding. We met great crew members all throughout the ship

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I have mixed feelings about the promenade design but the layout is good and it's easy to get to front and back. Public areas were all very well maintained and kept clean. Metal areas of my balcony were a bit of a concern as there were numerous rust spots

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony cabin was very nice and kept clean throughout. There were a few scuff marks here and there but the cabin otherwise appeared new. As noted before, I was surprised to see quite a bit of rust out on the balcony area

Ship tip

This ship is a great experience for those expecting a traditional Cruise. It does have a rock wall and a WaveRunner for those that want a bit more.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Other than about a 10 minute wait for the elevators, we were down and out of the terminal quickly. Facial recognition was used and there was no hold up at customs.

I agree. I like the Voyager class ships. I also like the Oasis class. They are just two different animals.

I've thought for years someone could come into Costa Maya and make money building more attractions. Maybe a water park or casino.
