Fantastic South American Experience by ronpam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: South America

Very goods positioning cruise for you South American first timers. You wsaw ports of call not normally visited and that makes it very interesting. Highlight was Panama Canal. We were told that the Macchu Pichu 2 day tour was well organized, but quite expensive. FYI

Cape Horn by twvaughan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Infinity / Destination: South America

Great trip overall. We had an emergency transfer of a crew member due to health reasons and had to skip our stop in Punta Arenas. This change in venue allowed us to be at Cape Hope at sunrise and to,transit the Beagle Channel during daylight. This was not the normal time to transit the channel. We were able to see many beautiful glaciers that would have been missed with a night transit.

Great ports. by coloradogypsy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: South America

The ports were awesome. The ship is getting run down, especially outside with a lot of rust to be seen. The staff was confrontational and had an attitude that the customer was always wrong. The entertainment was mediocre except for guest performers who were good. Activities were limited and difficult to sign up for.

Our Second Maasdam Voyage by BOBandSTEVE

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Maasdam / Destination: South America

Overall, we were very pleased with this cruise. I didn't rate the ports due to time filling this out, but highlights for us were Panama (took a tour through the locks), Antigua on a Sunday in Lent - Amazing!, and we loved Puerto Vallarta's Old town section and walking along the Malecon.

Gastrointestinal virus! by GrandmaSally

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: South America

The outbreak of a gastrointestinal virus put a damper on the cruise. No bread on the tables in the restaurants, no self serve in the buffets, no snacks in the bars, no ice buckets in the rooms, no hot tub usage, no library, no card room access, etc. In addition to those inconveniences, there was a lot of maintenance going on, often inconveniencing the passengers, such as grinding above the aft deck, sending debris flying down on the people and getting in their food. This eventually led to the closure of large sections of the deck. Frequently the Observation Deck Bar was closed for maintenance.

Amazing cruise with a few challenges that did not bother me! by ardeluca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: South America

Great Ship, great cruise, amazing itinerary.... starting in Chile through the Panama Canal ending in Miami. A 16 day cruise was a pleasure and a dream. Our cruise was effected by the Noro Virus and the ship was taking extra efforts to clean and prevent people from serving themselves. That means longer lines and longer wait times. My family washed our hands very often and avoided the buffet as there was less selection and longer lines. It was better to be served breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main dinning room. No one out of the 6 people we traveled with got the virus. Complainers should keep this in mind as the crew also got sick and service was delayed due to less crew. NCL gave us $35/each on our bill for the inconvenience and not sure how they came up with that number. Thanks for that. $50- $100 would have been better :). Our ages ranged from 45-55 years old so we were less than the average age.

Most enjoyable first cruise by Lockes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: South America

Our first cruise was very memorable, we enjoyed the relaxed “Freestyle” approach to cruising and would travel Norwegian again, we’d like to be sure that there is no major maintenance being undertaken during the cruise and that they cater for all ages, not just the under 35s especially as the average age of passengers was well over 70. We had Norovirus on board, it would have been better to enforce strict hygiene from day 1 then relax measures once there is reasonable certainty that there is no risk. No announcement was made about the situation until 3 days after the virus had broken out.
