Great cruise, great way to go to the Rio Carnaval with interesting fellow passengers.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We were in Concierge Class so had a relatively quick embarkation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We mostly ate in the DR and always asked to be seated with others. Despite having several languages onboard, we almost always were seated with other English speakers from the UK, Canada, Australia, NZ and the USA. The food was fine, waiters were excellent and attentive. We ate five times in specialty restaurants and liked Qsine best. Sushi on 5 was also quite good.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Did not join in any onboard activities.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
High quality entertainment but I felt there should have been more for the Spanish speakers onboard. Most of the entertainment was in English and I have no idea if Spanish speakers would be able to understand the banter and jokes.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All the staff were great, very professional and prompt.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Liked the ship, nice art on the walls. Ship felt uncrowded, always lots of seating in bars, restaurants and on deck.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nice cabin - Concierge class. Slightly larger than regular balcony cabins. Convenient location near the library and elevators so handy for most things.
Have been there before. Did the HOHO bus. We had two days in port so also went to a Tango show one night. A high end jewellery store offers free shuttle buses into the centre of town and back to the port so we took one of them the second day for several hours.
Spent three days here for carnaval. The city was mostly closed - shops, museums, galleries etc. The city was very dirty - a lot of trash everywhere and people sleeping in the streets.
Did a three day tour and had tickets for carnaval. Expensive but great.
Quick and easy. Taxis at the port were overpriced so we walked a few blocks and got a metered cab much more reasonable.( We were taking a ferry back to Uruguay from Puerto Madero)
