Mediterranean Cruise by Hbezerra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Smeralda / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

In the Dining Room, food was not tasty at all. In the buffet restaurant, we had to line up for everything, tea, coffee, water. The type of bread has not changed anywhere for the 7 days, the buffet had different pastas daily which are all the same taste.

Ukrainian citizens must have biometric passport to embark without visa by pakirene

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Virtuosa / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Per the travel requirement provided by MSC Cruise (msc-booking@email.msccruisesusa.com), it reads like all Ukrainian citizens can visit the ports of call on this itinerary without Schengen visa and no stipulation about the specific type of passport required. As the wife (with US citizenship) to a Ukrainian husband, little did I know this only applies to biometric passport holders. I purchased the cruise as a surprise Christmas trip for my husband, who had never been on a cruise. After we left our bags at the front of the cruise terminal for check in, we were disappointed to find out at the embarkation desk that my husband wasn’t allowed to embark, so we couldn’t get on the boat. We were also traveling with my parents who are almost 80 years old. When I mentioned that they need someone to take care of them on the boat without us there, it would have been nice if someone would at least try to understand what will their needs be. Instead, everyone seems to look the other way when this was brought up and provided an option that my parents could give up the cruise and leave with us as well. One of the staffs suggested we visit the embassy the next business day to see if we could get a last minute visa, and rejoin the cruise from a different port. We took that suggestion, so I encouraged my parents to continue to go onboard, which they were very reluctant but did so in the end. We waited almost 2 hours to get our bags back out from the boat and left the cruise terminal without being able to experience the cruise, which I am sure would have been wonderful. As for the last-minute visa suggestion, no such thing exists, we just ended up spending precious time doing research, asking around, and visited different embassies to no avail.

Chilly but sunny scenic trip by llh0703

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Grandiosa / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Good price for a Mediterranean cruise. Loved the stops. Food on MSC is pretty good but their desserts need work. Staff is good. Amazing the ability to converse in so many languages.

Excellent Way to Experience Europe for the First Time by rjmartinez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Magnifica / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A very good first trip to Europe. If you're considering going to Europe for the first time, I would highly recommend this cruise. Takes you to many lovely places and you get quite a bit of time to enjoy them. Ship itself is very good and had plenty of amenities for a family with young children.

Never Again by ludocdoc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Magnifica / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

MSC. Go for the itineraries. At least on Magnifica, the food has been aeful on both our trips and the service subpar. It's a 2 star hotel that moves you from port to port. If that's all you want from the cruise, you'll be happy. I thought Carnival was low class, but this was worse.

Nice European cruise, few things need improvement by fahaydar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Grandiosa / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Overall, good cruise; few things could use improvement. TV in room very unfriendly to English speakers... only one English news channel, and movies were not free. Evening shows were nice.

Magnificient and Perfect cruise....very enjoyable by thomasnguyen

COMPLIMENT OF STAFF - TO THE NCL'S LT Jenny LIM Regional Vice President – Fleet Hotel Operations Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd Cc: Mr. Tyson PINTO – F&B Director Dear Jenny, In general, people are quick to complain, but I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation and start your day with a praise and feedback on our stay/experience with NCL – Lisbon Cruise 2022 and to sum it all up, your team member was all exceptional professional, kind and courteous and did not disappoint us in anyway. This very trip is also both my wife (Doki / Mahdokht MERAJI) and I’s celebration our 40th anniversary. Both Doki and I have travelled much, and most of our past experiences have always been in the Asia continent, and not so much with cruises…but I must admit, NCL has been extremely pleasant and kind to both of us, above all, we have also noticed many people we have meet in the past 10 days here, also enjoyed the experience as much as we have. Additionally, in the past 10 days since checked in, I must let you know how much I have appreciated the consistently excellent work and all the little details from your staff, that had helped us feeling being in Lisbon Norwegian cruise, truly “home away from away” with such great comfort and much care; despite being far away from family, with some motion sickness in the first couple of days….and of course, the complimentary bottle of Chianti from Tyson had helped smooth and eased the motion sickness very dearly and quickly (Tyson, again, thank you very much for being so thoughtful and your kindness). I must share with you my feedback and experience we have had during our stay, as we have been incredibly pleased with your team’s commitment to highest quality services. Housekeeping – We have truly enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere with all cleanliness and friendliest services by Mr. Fulgencio TAMESIS Jr. (also, we have been calling him Paul). We have enjoyed all the friendly conversations every morning before going to breakfast as he has started his day, particularly of his wonderful opportunity here with NCL and sometimes sharing some short stories of his family and the beauties of his hometown back in Philippine. As well, I had observed of his engagement with all other customers on the same floor with consistent friendly manner, and they all appeared to enjoy their times chatting with Paul in the hallway. Paul has inspired us in many wonderfully considerate ways, even this morning before we had left for Cadiz, Paul had dropped our laundry with the most friendliness manner. We did give a personal R&A to Paul with $50 USD cash for all his efforts. Of course, every staff on the NCL cruise has been wonderfully kind and very professional. Also, the many choices of food and beverages have been exceptionally wonderful with highest quality. The two other staff worthy recognized: Ms. Johanna ZENKER and Sibomgile MDITSWA, truly very kind and wonderful photographers…..with endless of kindness and beautiful smiles at every greetings. Jenny, I truly understand of your important role within your organization, but I must let you know of your team effort, and it is such people in the organization as mentioned above, who have helped with making your Company great, and if I may say that they are all a true credit to Norwegian Cruise Line and fully epitomizes what 5-Star Service is all about. Please pass on our sincere thanks to everyone and above all, Wishing you all the most magical and wonderful Christmas and a most Heathy and Happy New Year 2023 and a Gong Xi Fa Cai to you and everyone. Indeed so, we are so looking forward to our next return trip already. Yours sincerely, Thomas Nguyen

Worst Cruise Ever by BertandKim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Costa Firenze / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

After taking many cruises on 6 different cruise lines this was the worst one. They cancelled two of our tours (not enough booked them), they cancelled a port stop in Sicily (the only reason we booked on Costa was that they stopped there), you cannot download the Costa app on US phones and the food was terrible. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary along with my in-laws celebrating their 6oth and my son celebrating his 15th. We were all very disappointed and wished we would have done something else. It will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

You learn a lot of history on this cruise if you attend the Port talks and the Historical Lectures. Great cruise with many interesting and informative tours. by gthornbe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Sky / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was a great cruise to give you a overview of the many ports that you visit. There is not enough time at each port to take more then one tour. This is a great way to explore and plan future trips to see an area like Athens at a future time.

Terrific trip by sorton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Venus / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The cruise was wonderful. The information we were given did not make it clear that Athens and Rome are not actually where the ship is docked. Having been to both Athens and Rome on prior trips, we understood that, but some of our passengers were a little confused that the ports were a good distance from the cities. Most of our ports were amazing. We were disappointed in Messina. There was not much to see in the city. I suppose the optional trips were better than the city tour. Overall, the itinerary was good. (Too bad the day at sea was so turbulent!)

Pretty Much What You’d Expect From Norwegian And by TommyJo

The ports of call were great spots. The ship did the passengers a great disservice by the way they handled them.

Great time, beautiful ports, amazing staff by bcloetta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Armonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Beautiful ship, wonderful staff, great new friends made! I think I learned more than anything else that especially in larger ports like Athens to spend less money on hop on hop off busses rather than the excursions.

De Bueno a Regular con Excelente precio by Arthur71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Armonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Los shows amenizan y estan bien.

Strenuous, unnecessary long excursions. by jww5531nc

Lots of 8- 10 hour tours nearly every day. Most were rated strenuous. It was off season, but the excursions were not adjusted to reflect that the shops were closed.

I would definitely recommend SeaDream! As the motto says it’s Yachting not cruising and it’s so very true! We had a party of 10 and had a fabulous time!! This was our fourth SeaDream Cruise! Richard Mize was our travel consultant, and he was wonderful. We will definitely book through him again!!
