Review summary

Beautiful ship, wonderful staff, great new friends made! I think I learned more than anything else that especially in larger ports like Athens to spend less money on hop on hop off busses rather than the excursions.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Really smooth. We somehow had priority so were on the ship early with lots of space to roam. They did manage to mix up our ID’S which took a bit of time and standing in line twice that afternoon.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The restaurants and buffets and pizza and burgers were all plentiful and good enough.. not always 4 star, but the amazing hospitality of the staff made up for any shortcomings.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Sailing in November made utilizing the pool too chilly. The fitness classes and fitness center were great.

Entertainment

Good, not great. I like to go to bed early anyway.

Children's Programs

No kids with us

Service and Staff

Absolutely top notch!!!!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I liked the layout of the ship. It was a bit weird to walk through the restaurants to get beyond, but likely better than having a hall.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Wonderful, spacious cabin with loads of storage. The shower had loads of pressure, the hairdryer was pretty lame. Also, they do not supply hair conditioner, but you can get Kleenex from the steward. The biggest downside was that our toilet (and all in our grouping)would just quit flushing on about 3 occasions.

Ship tip

Research the excursions beforehand. Big disappointment was the nighttime excursion in Brindisi..the four hour tour was literally three hours on the bus.

Ports of call

Venice, Italy

We arrived early and stayed late. This is a MUST for Venice. I think the best way to enjoy Venice is to just get lost wondering around and eating your way through the city. We did do an independent “free” guided walking tour through the Jewish ghetto which I highly recommend.

Brindisi, Italy

This was the excursion to Alboreto(sp) which was a LONG bus ride in the dark. Although I am happy I saw that quaint little city, I wish we had just stayed on the ship. Our tour guide also did the tour mostly in Italian and her English was very weak.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
This city is gorgeous and I’m not sorry we did the excursion, but I think the best part of that port was just walking the city.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

5 out of 5
So stunning, I wish we could have had more time here. DO climb the Acropolis. It is easy and oh so worth it. We had our best meal in Athens.

Split, Croatia

5 out of 5
We booked a tour to Medugorje and this day was pouring rain, so maybe a bit of a bust because of the weather. I’m not sorry I went, but maybe I should have left my non Catholic cousin to tour Split which looked beautiful too.

Disembarkation

The ship arrived late in port, but we were still required to exit our cabins by 8:30. Wow, for the first time, that ship was really overcrowded with tired, hungry people and the food service was discontinued 2 hours before we were able to leave, and no bar service.
