Review summary

A very good first trip to Europe. If you're considering going to Europe for the first time, I would highly recommend this cruise. Takes you to many lovely places and you get quite a bit of time to enjoy them. Ship itself is very good and had plenty of amenities for a family with young children.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was simple and quick. We were able to drop off our luggage and go back out once more to explore Tenerife a bit more.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Staff at all of the restaurants was excellent. Food was very good too, though I would have preferred some more protein options. I suspect it was catered more to European tastes, so being an American I would have liked some ore protein options. Specialty restaurant is good if you like sushi. I do so I enjoyed it but my wife, who does not like sushi, did not enjoy it much.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The gym was quite good. Even though I needed to adjust my normal routine a bit, they had a wide selection of machines that did the trick. The gym is right above the Captain's Quarters, so they don't like you dropping weights. That also explain why there's only free weights in the form of dumbbells and no barbells. Still the machines that were available were useful in getting a good workout. Also take note that the machines and weights are all in Kilograms, so if you're from the US you'll need to have a converter on hand. Pools were nice. My daughter particularly enjoyed them. Salon was good for my wife and daughter.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Staff do a great job in making the music and shows enjoyable.

Children's Programs

We didn't drop off our daughter at the Kids Club.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were excellent and took great care in making sure we were comfortable and happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout is pretty easy to figure out after a couple of days. Everything was always clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Size was adequate. Closet space was sufficient. We were able to fit our luggage under the beds, so that was good too. Window was partially blocked, but we knew that coming in and it didn't bother us too much. Room was kept clean by housekeeping staff.

Ship tip

Make note that the Wi-Fi in the cabins is not too good, so plan accordingly.

Did not enjoy this call very much. The town felt quite drab with some landmarks that were nice on their own. Also I felt that the locals were constantly eyeing us as tourists and I felt I had to be on extra-alert for shady activity. I didn't feel there was much to do here.
