Carnival's private beach is not too good, many shells and rocks in sand. Port shops have some nice trinkets and clothes.

Love Belize! Can't wait to go back. Did the Cave tubing and rainforest trek...it was really cool! Also, don't be afraid to go outside of the port walls!

Once again, some very aggressive merchants. There was a lot of crime and poverty at this port. The tour guides tried to say how safe it was, but the reality was that the US embassy issued travel advisories for this area.

Maybe the ship should go to one of Belizes islands instead of the city

Cave tubing is the ticket here in my view.

We didn't really feel safe leaving the port and exploring on our own like we did in other ports. The thing that told us it wasn't safe was the iron gates and armed guards. We stayed within the port, did some shopping and ended up back on the ship shortly after lunch. Our suggestion is to either stay within the port or book an excursion.

There is good shopping in port and the Wet Lizard is great for food and a beer
