Very sad place, and the port itself didn't hold up to the other ports we visited. It's not what you imagine when you see the TV ads to buy property in Belize, that's for sure. We booked an excursion (Way to Go Tours, not through the ship) to tour Belize City and a Rum Factory, which was very interesting and our guides, Percy and Shaquille were amazing.

Went to Alta Maya ruins and river trip and loved it even with the rain.

Travelled to this port twice now and did not and probably will not explore the area outside the cruise terminal unless I book an excursion. I say this because both times our tour bus was mobbed by vendors and the unfortunate with hands out asking for or selling something. Needs to be addressed.

Make sure to do a excursion. Terminal area not worth hanging out in. Visited many years with excursion but not much to do with a 4 year old.

We did self tours only, people are friendly but you need to get away from the port to really enjoy it. I would recommend taking excursions to get a better feel for the area.

Best Day of our whole trip. Did the Belize City Tour and Al Tun Ha Mayan Ruins Tour. Our tour guide was on of the Best. Little rain until we got back on ship.
