It was our first cruise and we all enjoyed it very much and would definitely go on another cruise. Nothing is perfect, but we felt Carnival gave us good value for our money, and any complaints we had would just be nitpicking.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We stayed at the Homeward Suites the night before so were at the port a little earlier than out boarding pass time, but we had priority boarding because we'd booked a Grand Suite. The process was smooth and painless, and went very quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in the dining room was hit or miss. The steak and lobster tail on elegant night was very good, other times, so-so. The staff in the main dining room was very nice, but the service was slow, especially if you ordered a cocktail. The buffet on the lido deck had some excellent options. We dined at both the steakhouse and the Italian restaurant and thought they were terrific, well worth the added fee.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was plenty to do, though we didn't do much more than enjoy our balcony and the Serenity deck when on board. I did book a spa treatment, which was wonderful.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Totally enjoyed the music all over the ship and the 2 comedy shows we caught. Two out of three in our party really enjoyed the rock show too.
Service and Staff

All of the Carnival employees were very nice and helpful. Our room steward, Muli, was the best, and Uriel, a server at the Red Frog Pub always made us smile, even when he wasn't our server.

The Grand Suite was amazing. So much space--three large adults were very comfortable. Loved it. Our steward kept it in tip top shape.
This was the starting and ending point of our cruise. We didn't do much other than eat dinner the night before we left at Fishlips, which I would highly recommend.
We liked this port. We'd booked an excursion to the San Gervais Mayan Ruins, which was labeled as "intimate" so it was a small group. We enjoyed it very much, and appreciated that it wasn't as far from the port as some of the others so we were able to see the port as well as the ruins.
Very sad place, and the port itself didn't hold up to the other ports we visited. It's not what you imagine when you see the TV ads to buy property in Belize, that's for sure. We booked an excursion (Way to Go Tours, not through the ship) to tour Belize City and a Rum Factory, which was very interesting and our guides, Percy and Shaquille were amazing.
It was pouring rain when we arrived and worried that our excursion to an exclusive beach house would be canceled. We were given the option of canceling in advance but decided to chance it anyway. The day never got sunny, but the rain did stop and we had a great time. Our guides, Jeffrey and Howie were so much fun, the beach house was gorgeous, and the food and drinks were delicious. 15 minute massages were included if you wanted them, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.
The port seemed very nice, but it poured the entire time we were there and there was no place to get out of the rain. They did have a beautiful pool we may have used if the weather had permitted and a bird sanctuary. There was also other entertainment available, as well as lots of shopping. While no one has control over the weather, I think we would've enjoyed it much more if the weather had been just a little more cooperative.
We had priority disembarkation too, because of booking a suite, and were amazed at how quickly it went. We put our bags out the night before and found them without trouble at the terminal.
