We met Richard outside the tourist exit at this port - he was a taxi driver and was very friendly! He told us about Old Belize City the whole way to Kukumba Beach.

There is not much to do except shop if you don't book an excursion. Most include a bus ride that may be up to an hour, but it is worth it to do something fun. We had a very entertaining and educational bus ride to the Jaguar Paw Zipline and Crystal Cave Tubing.

We did the Mayan trip and drove roughly 1 hour into the jungle. It was outstanding. I would do it again.

Belize it or not, but Belize was my favorite port. We did the Jaguar ATV, Zip line and River Tube tour. Unfortunately they had a lot of rain in the days prior and the caves were closed for safety; however the rest of our tour went on as scheduled. Bring bug spray, wear long sleeves, and long pants if you don't want to be eaten and bitten alive by mosquitoes.

Loved this port. I want to go back and contribute more to the economy. They need it. We did the Mayan Ruins. We got to go to the top of the tallest one and the views were awesome. The tender ride was my favorite. The islands among the crystal clear blue water that run right into the sky first thing in the more was more than I can describe.

First things first... BUY AN EXCURSION! There is nothing to do on this stop unless you plan on staying in port and shop around or just hang out on the port. Please do not waste your vacation on just staying in the ship. Buy an excursion and explore Belize. We were cave tubing and we had an awesome time. We tried authentic Mayan tacos they were delicious they were available at the cave tubing location. It was about an hour and some change from the port to the cave tubing location. We bought the excursion through Carnival, HOWEVER... we found a 3rd party that offered the same thing as Carnival did and they priced matched us and we got the credit towards our sign and sail card.
