Athens is dirty.....historically impressive but get to the Acropolis as early as possible. Very crowded.

Very hot. Did the excursion to the Acropolis and Plaka. Got into Athens late and our tour guide tried to cram everything in, and walked really fast because of it. That made it unpleasant. It was in the 90's. I thought one guy was going to have a heat stroke. The reason I gave it a 4 was because it's the Acropolis...a must see.

We were only there for about 6 hours. So was a get off the ship do a tour get back on the ship and leave. The city isn't to impressive to us but the ruins were nice. If your not interested in the ruins however you might want to stay on the ship.

There had been a lot of unrest in Athens, but you'd never know it when we visited. My only tip is: go as early as you can. It's very crowded

Eyes will burn from the polution, but a ride to the Parthanon is great. Shopping is the same everywhere...

Like any other big city. For minimal cost Athens city center can be reached and exploration on your own can take place. A good guide book and a map are better then any tour.

Great visit -again sitting in an outdoor cafe drinking coffee is my idea of a wonderful time. The sites were outstanding.
