We did not do an excursion on this port and we do not regret it. Mykonos has a large but walkable port town full of countless stores, tavernas, cafes, and even a museum here and there. There's also a small public beach right in the center of the port. Had we spent the day on a beach excursion or similar, we would have missed some great time in the town. Definitely check out the windmills.

I took the water taxi for 2euros one way/4 both. It was a great and cheap way to get to the city from the port. Where we dropped off at you could easily take a tour to Delos or paradise beach. I decided to walk down along the sea and saw the iconic church and the windmills. I then back tracked and tried to find Petros (the pelican) but he wasn’t out. I then spent a few hours at the public beach and really enjoyed the atmosphere and views. I did do a little shopping, but this port was more expensive than most.

LOVED IT! It is the quintessential Greek town. This is where you find the white buildings with bright blue domes and brightly colored windows/doors framed by colorful flowers.

Mykonos again, is one of those small, cute little coastal towns where you can walk around window shopping through an easy to navigate by foot town. We ended up finding a little gem, Mykonos Bay, where we were able to pay 10 euros a piece to lounge at the private resort pool (right on the beach) with pool side service and a restaurant. It was a little piece of paradise and the most perfect place to just relax enjoy the view. There was some mild nudity at this private pool, so not the best place to bring children.
