I spent almost a year planning and researching for this trip and I'm happy to say that things went exceptionally well. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of this cruise. The only negative was the heat! So much walking and heat and very little shade. What a/c they do have is not really helpful. If you go, bring plenty of water, hat and sunscreen.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We purchased transfers from Holland America and our bus took us straight to the cruise port. We quickly checked in and waited just a few minutes before our boarding group was called. We boarded quickly and as our rooms were ready went straight to our cabin.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

It was all perfect. Every night the food was great in the main dining room. We tried the Pinnacle Grill (steak) and Tamarind (pan Asian) and the food and service was excellent at both places. Morning breakfast was at the Lido and I often had trouble choosing between eggs benedict, customized omelets or the breakfast sandwich. Service in the Lido room was also excellent as they were always walking around filling up coffee cups and water/juice glasses.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I did not feel there were many activities but that was fine with me as I spent most of my down time either napping, reading or laying out by the pool.
Entertainment

Only went to a few performances and they were just ok.

Great size. We were in #6216, a "sunset" balcony. THe cabin faced the aft and so we had a great view of everything behind us. Nice place to watch the sun set.
Ship tip
Take advantage of the little extras like the Orange party, afternoon tea, etc. They are fun.
LOVED IT! It is the quintessential Greek town. This is where you find the white buildings with bright blue domes and brightly colored windows/doors framed by colorful flowers.
Exceeding my expectations. I did not expect the area to be so pretty .It is quite nice. The ancient town of Ephesus is a must. We took an excursion there and I felt like I was seeing something straight out of Indiana Jones.
Port is right next to old town and we spent the day walking around. Bought a ticket that allowed entry to the Grand Master's Palace and Archeological museum. Both were great places to visit. Wonderful place to shop. Lost of things and inexpensive too!
Ah, my dream island did not disappoint. Hired a private guide for an island tour. It took the full day. If I every go back I will simply spend my time walking around Fira and Oia. The views have no comparison.
WOW! Very busy, industrial port. Took an excursion to Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. All amazing. Buy tickets in advance as the line for tickets to Pompeii was over an hour. To do it justice, you really need at least 2 hours at Pompeii. Herculaneum was a hidden gem and when people say it is better than Pompeii, believe them because it is!
