First time we have done a cold weather cruise and I was pleasantly impressed - best scenery of any cruise we have ever done! Don't worry about the ship - enjoy the relaxation and peace of untouched nature ..!!

Not being experienced cruisers we were very satisfied and in all aspects the cruise/vacation met our expectations. Nothing better to find a quiet corner with a book and a glass of wine with a good book and look at mountains, water and forests. The expeditions were well paced and educational. Positive was the amount of food choices in the evening at both the specialty restaurants and the Lido buffet. Internet speed and reliability was very good for emails etc. not so much for streaming but that is understandable.

Awesome, refreshing cruise for nature lovers and families!

We traveled with 4 generations across 11 people. The ship is definitely more geared towards the retirement crowd. The scenery was absolutely stunning but wish we had more information on self guided trails and nature walks at each port of call. I was quite disappointed by the amount of upselling throughout the entire cruise. I understand the need to make money but it was frustrating feeling like we paid for a trip yet were still being sold to every corner we turned. From the daily pamphlets in our stateroom pushing jewelry sales to the servers pushing beverages. If you're expecting more outdoor activities without going on excursions (we felt like the excursions were too long to take our toddler on), I'd highly recommend doing research about each port before your trip. We did end up getting some service in Skagway and found a few trails on Alltrails. For families with young kids, we traveled with our toddler (22months). We brought our own pack and play (guava lotus) and it fit in front of the loveseat after we asked to remove the coffee table (we were in a VA room on deck 4). We were still able to access our balcony without issue. The rooms have blackout curtains. In terms of activities, the kids club doesn't allow kids under 3. If your toddler is willing to be worn, I'd highly recommend a packable carrier (I got one off amazon from boba air). It was great for short hikes and naps on the go.

Great first Alaskan Cruise. Have already recommended it to others.

The cruise was a lovely experience but the lack of relatively easy access to Gluten Free food (and menu clarity) was a major issue. Since menus come from Head Office (I was told) then this would be an issue on all HAL ships. I purchased the Have it All package, and liked the convenience. I note that HAL has removed gratuities from the package for future cruises, which I do not like. I hope they have adjusted the price of the package down, but suspect not.

This was our first cruise on Holland America Lines and we very much enjoyed it. We chose the cruise for the eclipse, but Hawaii was a great bonus. HAL has a nice product, though perhaps a little laid back for the more energetic traveler.

Did enjoy the cruise . Enjoyed the days at sea. Food was awesome. Was disappointed that we did not see the Hawaiian islands because we sailed at night and woke up to “ports” . I was so looking forward to sketching the islands as we sailed as I did going by Mexico.

I doubt very much we will sail with Holland America again. Their staff was wonderful, but it didn't make up for all the other disappointments. We have cruised on 19 cruises and this was the bottom of the bucket out of all our cruises.

Two weeks too long…Floating nursing home with old passengers and many illnesses! Had to turn around for sick passenger and missed one port as a result. Fire in gally one night. Excursions were below average in Pearl Harbor and Tahiti. Crew and food excellent and many activities, but designed for elderly population!

Lots of (18) days at sea. penty of time to rest and read etc. with calm seas. Great night life at the music venues and the food was excellent. Can't wait till the next cruise.

Great trip, my Travel Agent was very good, quick responses and all problems solved.

Amazing cruise the weather was perfect maybe a little hot at the equator but to be expected only rough water was first two days at sea all ports were beautiful some more than others only disappointing one was Papeete a guess a little to commercial all ship’s crew were excellent and service didn’t disappoint.Our agent did a excellent job of handling all of our questions and made sure everything ran smoothly will not hesitate to book with AnneMarie again

The ship is very nice, the cabin stwards are good, the spa is nice including the hydrotherapy pool; but very disappointed with the food in the main dining room.

Don't think we will cruise on Holland America again. Just did not enjoy the food or entertainment. Did like they had a priest onboard and we were able to attend mass.

A few days of rough weather on the way to Hawaii, but the Koningsdam rode well. Many activities filled the days. Educational series were excellent and well received. Ports were good. Missed Kauai due to high winds and seas. Return sail had many activities again. Seas were calm. Food excellent throughout.

My spouse and I enjoyed this cruise very much and would recommend it. There was plenty to do during the sea days, we learned a lot about Hawaii while on board, and we enjoyed our excursions in the islands, especially to Volcanos National Park.

This cruise was a quick, relaxing getaway for my husband and me to get away from the job, house and kids and reconnect. The low-key atmosphere made it easy. It was a very enjoyable week.

We had an excellent cruise and can't wait to book another one with Holland America especially on the Koningsdam. The only real surprise was the number of families with young children and teenagers on this cruise. We have been on many Holland cruises and have rarely seen families in the past. We have no complaints but it was a bit of a surprise to us.

Good laid back cruise mainly for seniors with good appetites.
