Review summary

We enjoyed this Princess cruise primarily because of the great variety of ports included, from Barcelona, Gilbraltar, several in Italy including Sicily, and Greece, including Mykonos and ending in Athens. It was quite hectic because there were only two sea days in 14 nights so there was always a new place to see. Princess has good, reliable service and they are well organized and care about their cruisers. We wish the dining menu at the traditional dining venue had been more varied and exciting, but service was good. The cabin with balcony was nice and we sat out on balcony several times to enjoy the sights and good weather.

Midship is very stable, and check out the itinerary to determine if you want port or starboard side. I would go with higher deck the next time. We were on Caribe, but try for Baja or higher. Loved the balcony.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We stayed a few nights in Barcelona before getting onboard. Well worth it. Must sees are La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and Casa Mila. Many more things are possible and the people watching is fantastic.

Cartagena, Spain

Walk to Roman theater. Others went up to top and said it was nice, but we didn't go. Don't need a tour here.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

St. Michael's Cave and the Barbery Apes were highlights. Lots else to see.

Marseille (Provence), France

Genoa, Italy

Don't go to Milan from Genoa. Too long a bus ride. Probably would have enjoyed Genoa itself more.

TUSCANY REGION, ITALY

5 out of 5
Pisa doesn't take that long to get to or to visit and the tower and duomo and baptistery are beautiful. Very white as of 2017. Florence is farther, good shopping destination, and visit Uffitizi or Academia.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Long bus ride from Civitavecchia to Rome, but worth it if you haven't seen Rome before. So crowded that day we didn't have time for Parthenon or really to enjoy Trevi fountain. Sistine Chapel is a rush to do.

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
We got close to Mt. Etna. Visit to Taormina is a must.

Mykonos, Greece

5 out of 5
Beautiful island and easy to walk around to get a feel.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece
