this was a good port but if your not doing anything there stay on the ship the shoping was over priced and the people were rude in the shoping area the falls were great and the caves and our host showing us around was so funny and nice

We took an excursion to Shaw Park. Nice scenery but a run down property. The usual crush of street sellers. Did not feel safe venturing outside the fenced areas.

We spent the day at the public beach to swim and that was nice. But the locals are still a little bit of a bother. That's to be expected I guess. But the other stops were no where near as bad.

Stay away from the "White River independant tours". Shopping is probably the best you can do here.

Caution- Please make guests aware of the dangers with climbing the Dunn River Fall. I stepped down into a very steep drop and heard my knee pop. A friend of mine broke a finger. A lady on the ship with us almost drowned and another fell forward and cut her leg on the rock. When we returned to the ship we saw a passenger who had broke his leg on the falls and had a cast on. This is just the people I know about from the cruise I was on. It was fun and also alot of work. I saw elderly people struggling to make it through. If I would have known what I know now I would not have attempted it. Someone could get seriously hurt and I think people should be for warned before booking this excursion or signs should be posted before you pay your money.

Dunn River Falls was very exciting. I woud not reccommend shopping in the straw markets.

This island was "ok". Shopping was great, but did not really enjoy the layout of the beaches. We went to a public beach, which felt like lake water! Perhaps this was our fault, and we should have visited a "paid' beach. Theft is very high there, and I just don't appreciate this type of touring. Enjoyed the Bahamas much more.

Dunns River Falls. Also get some coffee to bring home. You can bargain and get Jamacain Blue Mountain at about $18 a pound. Gevalia sells this for over $40.
