The helicopter to the Glacier was awesome but didn't think too much of the town. Red Dog Saloon is overrated and overcrowded. Bar stools so close I was bumping elbows the entire time I tried to enjoy a beer. Most expensive of all ports for the same souvenirs. I had read that and found prices 40% lower in Skagway for the same things. Good port to do an excursion and get out of town.

We did not do an excursion but we did take a cab to Mendenhall Glacier. Felt very ripped off by the cab company. The driver charged us $17 pp admission to the park. If you buy a ticket from the dispenser it is $5.

Get a taxi to the MENDENHALL Glacier (takes up to 6 people and should cost max 30 dollars). Buy entrance tickets at glacier (5$ per adult, kids are free) get taxi back ( lots of taxis there, 25$). Don't be conned into paying more... GLACIER ANK PARK IS WONDERFUL

Don’t waste your time with this port. Dogsledding excursions were cancelled. They said it was due to weather as helicopters and planes were grounded but we saw multiple helicopters in the sky and a seaplane! So they cancel and they lie. Such a disappointment but at least we can walk around Juneau and shop right? Wrong! Everything was closed! We’ll never do an Alaskan Cruise again and suggest anyone who doesn’t want to waste money doesn’t choose these itineraries or excursions. I guess Juneau doesn’t want or need tourism.
