Ovation of the Seas

7 Night Alaska Glacier (Seattle Roundtrip)

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 6708

Review summary

Expected more from the ship. It had great potential, although too many cabins for size of ship. But it disappointed. Central spaces full of luxury shops instead of nice spaces to relax. High tech spaces not used as well as they could be. Ports were great but I would visit in another ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Efficient although baggage delivery was slow.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main silk dining room experience was great. Chops dinner was very good but pricey Other venues ok.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center was good. Was surprised at how many of other activities cost money. A lot of nickel and dining on the ship. Good facilities for kids and teenagers.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The ship has great venues. Unfortunately the were too often used for selling things or childish games . Would have been great for great dancing, which was possible on only a few nights.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Some staff, room attendant, and dining room staff at Silk were very good. Others seemed bored.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
High tech, clean. Too many cabins for size of ship. Venues were all pretty crowded.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was comfortable and quiet. View was partially obscured but otherwise wonderful.

Ship tip

A good ship for families or for people interested in buying things aboard ship.

Thanks for the review.

The only change we didn't like was splitting the MDR in to 4 separate restaurants. For us, it took away the elegance & the ambience. Otherwise we loved OOTS. We would sail on her again.

We were on the same sailing, thought all staff were amazing and entertainment was great.
