Review summary

I liked the cruise. The boat was not as fancy as I thought it would be. The only other cruise I have been on was a Princess cruise. That boat had many fancy decorations. There was only one really fancy chandelier and a glass staircase on the Norwegian Joy.

Embarkation

Really Good.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dinning rooms were good. Menu didn't change much during the week. I think they do this to help push you buying into the specialty restaurants upgrade. Buffet was good too. It was kind of a free for all at peak times but that was the number of customers eating there. Norwegian Joy did everything right to accommodate the sometimes high volume of people at the Buffett.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoyed both shows immensely. I attended a art lesson and auction. Enjoyed a commedian show, took a group singing lesson, shopped, and gambled a little.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were Broadway quality. Really good. Musicians were good.

Children's Programs

I didn't take any kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters in the dinning rooms were very good. Our room steward was good too. Everyone was really good.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was kept very clean. I was disapointed with the public bath rooms. They were very small and the toliets were made of a hard plastic. I felt like I was going to the bathroom in a motorhome. I was also dissapointed there was not a covered pool. The one pool up top was small and not heated enough for the cooler Alaskan climate.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was very clean and comfortable. It wasn't big by any standards but it was adequate.

We did not get enough time to explore Juneau.

SCENIC GLACIER CRUISING

My favorite part.

Skagway, Alaska

We wanted to book the train excursion but due to the 4 or 5 ships docking at once we didn't get a spot. Also my traveling companion did not have a passport. A birth certificate does not work on this excursion. You need to book it by the first of second day to get it.

Victoria, British Columbia

I loved Victoria. We ported from like 4pm to midnight on a Friday which was supprisingly fun. This is really a lovely city. I would like to go back on my own and spend more time there.

Disembarkation

It was very busy. You can imagine 4000 people getting off in a two hour period. The port was super busy with people leaving too. My boyfriend left his phone in our room. It took over a hour for them to get us the phone.
