Now that Amber Cove has been open for awhile, what are your thoughts on the port? We were there in January and I was not overly impressed.

I will visit here on a cruise departing Dec. 4th. I'll be sure to give my impression of Amber Cove. This is one of the reasons that I am taking the cruise.
Thanks for the heads up! I do plan on doing an excursion while there which is why I chose a cruiser going here for the excursion I found. Its an adventurous excursion lol but looking forward to climbing those waterfalls. We just climbed Dunns River Falls which is why I want to do the 27 waterfalls because we had so much fun climbing Dunns River!
I was there in June. I only did the port. Kind of small and a few shops. Basic stuff. There is a short zipline a big pool like grand turk and a skybar that gives a nice view. Thats pretty much it. I only was off the ship I think for a few hours and went back. Not impressed at all. I would look at excursions next time.
Haven't been there yet, but hope to go sometime.
I've not been personally, but I'd love to see it at least once!
We were in Amber Cove in September. We enjoyed our Monkey Jungle excursion. Be aware that the monkeys will quite literally climb all over you. The climb back up was very strenuous on a very hot day. It just about got me. I had more trouble completing that than any other excursion we have done, to include cave tubing in Belize. The port area is on the Atlantic side of the island, so the beaches there are not as pretty. The next time we are there, we want to
see more of the island,
Shoot I'm booking a cruise just so I can go to Amber Cove. I want to go climb the Damajagua Park Waterfalls. It's 27 waterfalls with natural waterslides! I saw it thru Shore Excursioneer and it looks awesome! I hope its a good port.
We will hit that port in January 2017. I think it is safe to say, we don't have a high level of excitement about it.
I wouldn't mind going to Amber Cove...I don't need a reason to go on a cruise..
I'm sure with time it will become a big spot. I know with Labadee, they have done more stuff since I was last there almost 10 years ago (god that sounds awful and long).
It will take time and $$$.
