I hope this outbreak is curbed soon!! And I'm glad Shanghai and Hong Kong Disneyland both closed to help stop any potential spreading of it there. I know a LOT of Americans and Europeans go to those parks.
Reported that the Costa ship was cleared. Those that showed symptoms only had common flu. But Princess Empress visiting Japan has 2 confirmed cases so will be in quarantine.
That is good news for everyone involved. My brain started to hurt when I started thinking of the number of people that would have affected and the spill over. The ones on the ship, those waiting to board the ship next and possibly the cruise after that, the crew, the cruise line, all would be affected. Then the ship would have to be sanitized after. The logistics of supplying, feeding and looking after those on board for a 2 week quarantine especially when people may not have clothes or medication to cover the extended period. Glad it worked out.

I see headlines this morning that a Costa Cruise ship in Italy has been refused permission for any of the 6000 occupants to get off the ship because a 54 yr old woman is suspected to possibly have the virus.

I also saw an article on 3 cruise lines that did not cancel and offer refunds but still have their ships scheduled for Chinese ports. Shame on them and good for those that see the greater good.
Better to error on the safe side. It won't stop expansion but hopefully slow enough to allow a treatment to come along.

As upsetting as this is, I'm glad they're cancelling some of the cruises. Finding a cure for viruses takes time, especially for ones we don't know much about. In the case of the Coronavirus, we don't know what medications, if any, it will respond to. We don't know if it will respond to ammoxacilians or what combination of ammoxacilians it will respond to.
As much as I wouldn't want a cruise to be cancelled, I'd much rather stop the spread of the virus to other potential victims, thereby risking their lives, and have everyone healthy for their next cruise.
