Multiple cruise lines have suspended operations

Multiple cruise lines have suspended all/some operations due to Coronavirus. I'm going to be keeping this article updated daily, if not more often. This is all so crazy.

Thanks. I also spoke with a crew member in Johnny Rockets who told me that its been a lot of work, but in his opinion, they should be cleaning like that all time. He said even the crew areas are getting far more attention and everyone realizes the seriousness of hygiene as they're staying healthy too.

We were on the same cruise and I was going to post my comments, but these are exactly what I was going to say. Great overview!

Glad you had a good cruise! Hope all the crew and ships get needed "refreshing" during the next 30 days. Time will tell.

Hopefully it all works out.

We disembarked from RCL Liberty of the Seas today (3/15). It was a great family cruise and our second trip on the Liberty. The crew did a fabulous job sanitizing everything - ALL the time. None of our party (8) picked up "crud". I also heard very little coughing, sneezing, sniffling while in the theater or other public areas. I think this is because those in compromised positions didn't board, and those who came followed the "washy washy" protocol. (4500 passenger on-board) Folks actually washed their hands in the restrooms AND used sanitizer. Eating areas were alway being policed and sanitized. I think it was the healthiest cruise I've sailed. During the 30 cruise hiatus, the ship will spend the week at sea training, cleaning and allowing the crew to participate in the "cruise experience". The production team will be performing special shows for the crew and other passenger areas will be opened up for their recreations. (Included some finer dining opportunities). The ship will return to Galveston every week to re-provision, but the crew will not be allowed to visit the mainland and pick up any bugs. I bet they come back to work in 30 days in a pretty good mood. Good for RCL!

Rebooked for the first available cruise.. hoping we get lucky if not we will just post pone again 😔🤞🏻

Thank you very much for the link. It is sad but it is for the best.

Out of morbid curiosity, I drove by the Galveston cruise port this morning. Liberty of the Seas and Carnival Vista were tied up and releasing a slow but steady stream of passengers.

The usual activity was much lower since they were not provisioning for the next cruise or greeting new passengers.

It makes me sad, but its probably for the best.

As much as it saddens me, better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the link.
