MISTAKES FIRST TIME CRUISERS MAKE....oh boy!

The list could be extensive...and I'd bet real money that the cruise lines, each and every one, know and count on it. If suddenly everyone somehow became an educated consumer, the fares to cruise would skyrocket. I'll start with one of my favorites...buying excursions and specialty restaurants on board, rather than on line, in comfort. Watching folks do it onboard, surrounded by 500+ of your closest new friends who know as little as you do with basically only cruise excursion desk literature to go on, leaves me totally disgusted....no research, no opines from peeps who've actually done a particular excursion, is like throwing your $$ into the ocean...

Well...I always kind of thought a "nomadic lifestyle" was basically done on the cheap. Not that you can't cruise that way, but the more you do it, generally, the more it costs...the problem with this addiction, like all addictions, is that nobody really cares what it costs...well...my CFO cares, but once she blesses a cruise, all bets are off!!

One if the biggest stress relievers for me was,,,not bringing the 12 packs of soda in board. I got stuck carrying them. No more

Never could understand that...even if you had 14 kids...their soda packages are cheap enough. be easier to leave the rugrats ashore...heheheh..(j/k)....course there are always some folks who INSIST on a brand they don't have...wellllll…….

very true Yankee! Done of my relatives were complaint they would not have the mountain dew they required, REQUIRED???

Which is another reason we NEVER EVER cruised by committee. Haven't felt the need to drag along an assortment of "others"...relatives, friends...just us...and we're usually on the same page...usually.... heheheheh been on more than enough cruises to enjoy people watching...and you can just tell...my fav expression, I think I stole it from somewhere in here or another blog, cause I wasn't smart enough to invent it...was that experienced cruisers can "find" the "cruise within the cruise"....and almost always have an excellent time, even when things aren't 100% perfect...

Agreed, 3 of our kids are now groans, the 4th has special needs so he is usually with us, but he is more "go with the flow" than many "normal" ppl are. He does like Dr pepper, but is fine with the Mr. Pibb on board or a coke.

Danyl and I just want to relax and do whatever when we cruise... 20 days til the start if our first B2B. Us alone 4 days before kyle, Chris and his avg Libby join us for the 5 day part.
