Embarkation was very smooth and easy. We did have to fill out a survey and our temperatures were taken before we were allowed to board, but it was done very smoothly with no drama.

Our breakfast and evening meals in the Main Dining Room were all delicious and very enjoyable. Our evening servers ~ Sunabdo & Hardi ~ were magnificent!! We enjoyed them every evening. We did a lot of DIVE IN for lunch and the cheeseburgers and chicken sandwiches were great. The chicken sandwich had 2 huge pieces of chicken in every one of them.
Piano Bar

Billboard Onboard was FANTASTIC! The 2 performers ~ Brian & Jackie ~ had backgrounds in theater and they really put on a show. If you are lucky enough to get these 2, you will spend every night at Billboard Onboard!!

The 2 pianists at BILLBOARD ONBOARD were amazing! Brian O'Kelly Cox and Jackie Evans were so professional yet so personable and fun to listen to. They both were in theater before joining Holland America and their harmonies and vocal skills were better than some of the paid entertainment we've seen.
The nightly entertainment was NOT as good as we've had on other cruises. Truly enjoyed Leon the magician and Ronnie the impressionist but the dancers were the same as we had last cruise and the movies they showed were also on the ship's TVs, so no motivation to see theirs.

Our room was clean and beautiful every single day, that's to Dewa and our waiters ~ Sunabdo & Hardi ~ were wonderful. We really enjoyed dinner every evening having them take care of us.
Ship Quality

The Zuiderdam was very clean and enjoyable. (I know it was in dry-dock in Dec.) Compared to the Ooderdam that we were on in Oct/Nov, this ship was like new!! No bad smells or other complications we had on the last cruise.

It was very clean and comfortable. I love their beds! Wish I could have one at home!!
Ship tip
If Brian and Jackie are still at BILLBOARD ONBOARD do not miss their show! They are literally the best duo we have heard on all of our cruises!
This was the one thing that I was terribly disappointed with. We went through the docks and then never moved away from them ~ all we did was turn the ship around and wait to go back through. I believe it would have been very easy to cruise the Lake a little bit and see more of it than we did.
