Review summary

Sailing from Ft. Lauderdale we enjoyed mostly calm seas with only a day or two of some moderate rocking.  Food was good and some of the entertainment was good.  Annika in the piano bar was fantastic.  Two major problems were encountered.  First of all after three days at sea we both contracted an upper respirator illness, but it wasn't only us.  As we interacted with larger numbers of passengers it became apparent that this was a widespread problem.  A number of us think there is an air quality problem on the boat.  Add to that the serious condensation we encountered in the Vista dining room.

The other problem is that every day men were working outside our cabin on the lifeboat mechanisms.  This consisted of grinding and hammering ALL DAY!  Needless to say afternoon naps were hard to come by.

What else is there to do in Rotterdam besides the Tulip Festival?

I totally agree with you on the way lots of pax behave in regard to preventing spreading of virussus.

We too contracted a respiratory infection but not so sure it was an issue with the air quality. Unfortunately far too many people don't cough into a tissue or the crook of their elbow. Instead they either don't cover their mouth or cough into their hand - then they use a spoon or forceps at the Lido buffet, use the handrail around the ship, push the elevator button or use the convenience phones.

Was on the same voyage, we did not experience any health problems. I can imagine that the maintenance work was annoying. We were on deck 7, no noise there. Work on lifeboats is important.
